The Department of Health has confirmed that 41 more people have died overnight from the Covid-19 virus here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 406. Of these 41 deaths confirmed today, 36 were in the east of the country, 4 in the west and 1 in the south.
Here in Co. Tipperary there were 19 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed overnight, thus bringing the total number suffering from this pandemic virus, in the Premier County, to 219 cases.
A total of 832 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also been diagnosed in the Republic. This figure includes 284 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 11,479.
In Northern Ireland, 10 more people have died in hospital from Covid-19, raising their toll to 134 recorded hospital deaths. Here also, there are a further 85 new cases identified, bringing their total number of confirmed cases to 1,967.

A further 31 people have died from Covid-19 here in the Republic of Ireland today; that is according to the Department of Health, bringing our overall death toll to 365.
In Northern Ireland, 6 further coronavirus-related deaths have been also announced today; bringing their total to 124.
Here in Co. Tipperary there were 25 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed overnight, thus bringing the total number suffering from this pandemic virus, in the Premier County, to 200 cases.
Currently, there are a total of 10,647 confirmed cases of Covid-19 having been identified here in the republic of Ireland, when recent testing figures undertaken in Germany are included.
In Northern Ireland, there are now 1,882 confirmed Covid-19 cases identified. This figure includes a further 76 new cases identified overnight.

This Easter Sunday night, we learn that the number of deaths associated with Covid-19 virus, has increased by 14, bringing the total number of deaths to 334 from yesterdays toll of 320 deceased persons, here in the Republic of Ireland.
The total number of actual Covid-19 cases has increased overnight from 8,928, to 9,655; with 727 further cases confirmed by the Department of Health and a testing laboratory in Germany. In total 1,777 cases or 21%, have been hospitalised of which 261 cases have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU’s).
Here in Co. Tipperary, a further 9 new cases have been identified over the past 24 hours, bringing our overall total caseload to 175. This figure comes as no surprise, as some Tipperary residents are failing to isolate, thus waning in their basic understanding of the seriousness of our current pandemic situation. This is further confirmed by the fact that over 65% of the virus contracted, is by community transmission.
