Covid-19 Update Today 18th April 2020 – 41 Deaths – 778 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that a further 41 people have died today, 18th April 2020, from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 571.

Today’s 41 deaths, sadly relate to 23 females and 18 males, 35 of which were located in the east, 2 in the northwest and 4 in the west of the country.

Here in Co. Tipperary the number of new cases reported, up until midnight as at the 16/4/2020, has been confirmed at 283 since conception.

A total of 778 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also today been diagnosed here in the Republic. This figure includes 148 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 14,758.

There had been a drop in the number of hospitalisations and the number of admissions to ICU, but the Department of Health warn that any easing of restrictions in relations to mass gatherings, could see a dramatic return to the virus spreading.

Covid-19 Update In Irish Rep. – 44 Deaths – 709 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that a further 44 people have died today 17th April 2020, from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 530.

Of today’s 44 deaths, (19 females and 25 males), 3 were located in the north-west, 33 were in the east, 3 were in the south and 5 were in the west.

Here in Co. Tipperary the number of new cases reported, up until the 15/4/2020, has been confirmed at 270 since conception.

A total of 709 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also today been diagnosed here in the Republic. This figure includes 112 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 13,980.

Through it parents and teachers can access a number of high quality Irish resources that explore the topics of cyberbullying, false information and privacy. Covid-19 Update In Irish Rep. – 43 Deaths – 724 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that a further 43 people have died overnight from the Covid-19 virus here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 487.

Of today’s deaths, (21 females and 22 males), 34 were in the east, 4 in the west and 5 were in the south of the country.

A total of 724 identified new cases of the coronavirus have now today been diagnosed here in the Republic. This figure includes 95 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 13,271.

The medical facility of Limerick University Hospital, serving North Tipperary were handling 35 Covid-19 Cases up to 8:00am yesterday, with the daily rate of admission to hospital of confirmed cases reducing slightly today.

Despite being concieved in Asia, the coronavirus has killed in excess of 90,180 people across Europe alone, amounting to over 65% of the overall global death toll. Worldwide the virus has killed at least 137,499 persons and rising.

In Irish Rep. – 38 Deaths – 1068 New Covid-19 Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that 38 more people have died overnight from the Covid-19 virus here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 444.

Of these 38 deaths confirmed today, 29 were in the east of the country, 6 in the west and 3 in the south.


Here in Co. Tipperary there were 18 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed overnight, thus bringing the total number suffering from this pandemic virus, in the Premier County, to 237 cases.

A total of 1068 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also been diagnosed in the Republic. This figure includes 411 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 12,547.

Of the cases confirmed across the Republic of Ireland to date, community transmission has been identified as the cause in 52% of cases, local transmission is responsible for 42%, and 6% of cases are connected to travel abroad.
