The Department of Health has confirmed that 41 more people have died overnight from the Covid-19 virus here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation sadly brings the overall death toll to-date, to 406.
Of these 41 deaths confirmed today, 36 were in the east of the country, 4 in the west and 1 in the south.
Here in Co. Tipperary there were 19 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed overnight, thus bringing the total number suffering from this pandemic virus, in the Premier County, to 219 cases.
A total of 832 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also been diagnosed in the Republic. This figure includes 284 cases identified by a German testing centre; bringing the total since conception to 11,479.
In Northern Ireland, 10 more people have died in hospital from Covid-19, raising their toll to 134 recorded hospital deaths.
Here also, there are a further 85 new cases identified, bringing their total number of confirmed cases to 1,967.
