The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Tuesday, June 9th, is 541, with 1 new case identified over a 24 hour period.
The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 8 persons has sadly passed away as a result of the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,703.
This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 8 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,238.
Overall there are currently 28 people remaining in ICU’s and 86 people in hospital beds with Covid-19 virus, with no admissions to hospital in the last 24 hours. The number of people requesting tests has also dropped.
Earlier today, An Taoiseach Mr Leo Varadkar advised, “Our plan is working and we should stick to it. However we are still in the early stages, so it’s too early to evaluate how Phase 2 is going, but the early indications are favourable.”
He also warned that “We share an open border with Northern Ireland which has unrestricted travel with Great Britain. Closing ourselves off is not an option for Ireland in the medium to long-term. We need to be prepared for the risk of imported cases as we reopen slowly to other countries.”
Meanwhile today, Dr Dr David Nabarro of the World Health Organization, (WHO) has lauded Ireland’s response to the virus pandemic to date.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 19 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,231.
Efforts are being made to revise phases 4 and 5 of easing Covid-19 restrictions, in order to have the country almost fully open by the middle of July next.
Today there remained 102 confirmed cases in hospitals, with 29 patients remaining in intensive care.

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 9 persons has sadly passed away as a result of the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,691.
This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 9 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,215.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has warned that our health mission is not yet accomplished and it is too early to begin taking stock. He also warned that shops and retail environments might take steps to remind the public of the importance of wearing protective masks.
The Department again warns that people must stick to public health guidelines to further limit the spread of this pandemic.
However, the percentage of tests proving positive for Covid-19 has reduced to 1% over the past week, compared with 1.7% over the previous week.
Today there remained 110 confirmed cases in hospitals, with 35 patients remaining in intensive care.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 9 new cases of the virus (the lowest daily figure since the 11th of March last) have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,210.
People are still being warned to continue to avoid large gatherings / family celebrations in private homes or indeed elsewhere.
