Pre-deceased by her infant daughter Jeannette and brother Pat; Mrs Devane passed away peacefully at her place of ordinary residence, surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of staff at South East Palliative Care unit.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving husband Tom, daughters Edel and Marie-Therese, sons-in-law Michael Walsh and Peter Moynihan, adored grandchildren Thomas-John and Ethan (Walsh), Tadhg and Malachy (Moynihan), sisters Monica (Fox) and Catherine (Fox), sister-in-law Mairead, brother-in-law Jim, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength and the love she gave so generously.

The earthly remains of Mrs Devane will repose at Hayes Funeral Chapel, Clonoulty, Co. Tipperary, on Wednesday afternoon, July 29th from 5:30pm until 7:30pm same evening. Her remains will be received into the Church of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Drum, Rossmore, Cashel, on Thursday morning, July 30th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard,.

Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation is under way following the discovery of a man’s body in the Galtee Mountains in County Tipperary.
The body was found on Monday morning, July 27th, and was subsequently removed from the scene.
The local coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place. Gardaí said they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
The results of the examination are expected to help establish what happened.
The incident is currently understood to have been a tragic accident, with no foul play suspected at this stage.

Rain has returned to Thurles this evening, Monday, July 27th 2026, after an unusually long dry spell.
Met Éireann’s provisional summer records show that much of County Tipperary experienced sustained dry conditions through the first three weeks of July, while the nearby Gurteen weather station had recorded a notably wet June. On the available evidence, the last proper measurable rain in the Thurles area appears to have fallen around June 30th, making this evening’s rainfall the first significant rain for almost four weeks.
