Covid-19 Update: Wed. 1st July 2020 – 3 Deaths – 6 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Monday, June 29th, remains unchanged at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 5days.

There is one person confirmed with the virus in University Hospital Limerick, latter medical facility serving North Tipperary, according to latest HSE figures, and no confirmed cases in South Tipperary General Hospital , Clonmel.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that 3 deaths have been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic at 1,738.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 6 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,477.

Nationally, there are 19 persons receiving hospital treatment presently. This number includes 13 in intensive care units (ICU’s) suffering from the virus.

Thousands of people who have booked summer holidays abroad are being advised to cancel them. This request comes amid fears that Ireland could be seeing the first signs of a potential resurgence of Covid-19.

Chief medical officer Dr. Tony Holohan has issued a plea amid a small but nevertheless worrying rise in clusters of travel-related infections and an increase in cases of Covid-19 being confirmed in young people who foolishly are flouting distancing and other hygiene rules nationally.

Covid-19 Update: Tue. 30th June 2020 – 1 Deaths – 11 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Sunday, June 28th, remains unchanged at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 96 hour period.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that 1 death have been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic at 1,736

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 11 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,473.

All 11 confirmed cases are in counties Dublin (5) and Kildare (6), with no new cases in Co. Cork.

There are 12 patients in intensive care units confirmed as having Covid-19, according to the latest figures from the Health Service Executive.

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan has expressed serious worries regarding a new trend of cases of the virus rising in Ireland, as well as a number of new clusters; one identified in the northwest of Ireland caused by overseas travel.

He continues to urged young people who are socialising more and meeting people in groups to act responsibly. “Hand washing, physical distancing, cough/sneeze hygiene and wearing face coverings remain important personal behaviours ,” said Dr Holohan.

There are now at least 10,360,882 confirmed cases of Covid-19 virus in 188 countries / regions world wide, with 507,014 identified deaths caused by the pandemic.

Covid-19 Update: Mon. 29th June 2020 – 0 Deaths – 24 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Saturday, June 27th, remains unchanged at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 72-hour period.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that zero death have been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic at 1,735.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 24 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,462.

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan has expressed serious worries regarding a new trend of cases of the virus rising in Ireland, as well as a number of new clusters.

He continues to urged young people to act responsibly, as the country enters a new phase today, in its battle with the virus. “Hand washing, physical distancing, cough/sneeze hygiene and wearing face coverings are important personal behaviours that mean, as we go about our daily lives, that we are doing everything we can to avoid contracting the virus and spreading it to those we love,” said Dr Holohan.

Covid-19 Update: Sun. 28th June 2020 – 1 Death – 3 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Wednesday, June 24th, remains at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 24-hour period.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that sadly 1 further death has been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,735.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 3 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,439.

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan has expressed serious worries regarding a trend that shows young people are testing positive for Covid-19 after an overnight spike in cases which saw people aged under 35 years accounting for almost 43% of the new positive identified tests.

He continues to urged young people to act responsibly, when the country enters a new phase in its battle with the virus from tomorrow. There remains concerns that the reopening of pubs serving food, as well as cafes, restaurants and other amenities / businesses will lead to a second wave of Covid-19 cases, if young people do not act responsibly.

Covid-19 Update: Sat. 27th June 2020 – 6 Deaths – 23 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Wednesday, June 24th, remains at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 24-hour period.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that sadly 6 further death has been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,734.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 23 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,437.

Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health Dr Tony Holohan has expressed serious concern about Irish people travelling abroad this year, fearing that many people were planning foreign trips abroad.

This year, in particular, Irish residents should be staying at home and spending locally in an effort to kickstart our own Irish economy and small businesses, while following basic public health advice. Now is the time for Tipperary Co. Council’s tourism department to waken up and begin promoting / highlighting tourism in what after all is the Premier County.
