Covid-19 Update: Wed. 1st July 2020 – 3 Deaths – 6 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Monday, June 29th, remains unchanged at 543, with zero cases identified over the previous 5days.

There is one person confirmed with the virus in University Hospital Limerick, latter medical facility serving North Tipperary, according to latest HSE figures, and no confirmed cases in South Tipperary General Hospital , Clonmel.

This evening, the Department of Health has confirmed that 3 deaths have been caused by Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic at 1,738.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 6 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,477.

Nationally, there are 19 persons receiving hospital treatment presently. This number includes 13 in intensive care units (ICU’s) suffering from the virus.

Thousands of people who have booked summer holidays abroad are being advised to cancel them. This request comes amid fears that Ireland could be seeing the first signs of a potential resurgence of Covid-19.

Chief medical officer Dr. Tony Holohan has issued a plea amid a small but nevertheless worrying rise in clusters of travel-related infections and an increase in cases of Covid-19 being confirmed in young people who foolishly are flouting distancing and other hygiene rules nationally.

In support of Dr. Tony Holohan’s advice, regarding foreign travel, we look at the State of Florida U.S.A. today, and let’s assume you and your family insisted you wanted to visit Disney World; go to Florida, but with the following info:-

  • Since March 1st, 2020, over 169,447 persons have confirmed positive to the virus.
  • New virus cases identified just today, July 1st 2020 and rising, are 6,563.
  • Deaths since March 1st, 2020, are 3,650.
  • Those hospitalized to date since March 1st, 2020, number 15,125 persons.
  • Available ICU Beds in the State of Florida, only 1,201.
