Covid-19 Update: Sun. 15th Nov. 2020 – 1 Death – 378 New Cases

21 further killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 1 further death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 1,979.

There are 378 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 67,903.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 21 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,367cases to date, per RTE summary); 124 in Dublin; 34 in Donegal; 23 in Louth; 19 in Cork; 19 in Limerick; with the remaining 138 cases located across 19 other counties.

Other COVID-19 News:
Currently, in hospitals serving Co. Tipperary, there are 40 virus cases in University Hospital Limerick with 4 in intensive care units, while in South Tipperary General, Clonmel there are 3 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Currently, there are 259 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 31 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland have announced that a further 9 people have sadly died from Covid-19 virus. An additional 472 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases recorded in Northern Ireland to 46,831.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at well over 54 million [Global Cases – 54,127,451] with global deaths at over 1.3 million [Global Deaths – 1,314,584].

10 further killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,978.

There are 456 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 67,526.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 10 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,346 cases to date, per RTE summary); 151 in Dublin; 38 in Limerick; 27 in Cork; 27 in Donegal; 27 in Galway; with the remaining 176 cases located across 19 other counties.

Other COVID-19 News:
Professor Philip Nolan has stated that Ireland would have been facing 150 Covid-19 related deaths a month and at least 1,200 people in hospital had the country continued to remain at Level 3 restrictions.

Currently, there are 254 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 32 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland have announced that a further 10 people have died from Covid-19 virus. An additional 511 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the north, 39 of whom are on ventilators.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at well over 53.5 million [Global Cases – 53,661,954] with global deaths at over 1.30 million [Global Deaths – 1,307,068].

Sunday, November 15th – World Day Of Remembrance For Road Traffic Victims

Sunday, November 15th 2020 will be the third Sunday in November, when on this day each year the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) seeks to remember the millions of lives, world wide, lost or injured due to tragic road crashes.

On this day we also seek to pay tribute to the many emergency responders and medical professionals obliged to deal with the trauma of road deaths and the various injuries incurred by such incidents, on a daily basis.

According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT), nearly 1.25 million people across the world loose their lives in road crashes every year. This figure equates to approximately 3,424 deaths per day.

2018 saw the safest recorded year on Irish roads, nevertheless there were 142 lives lost in 135 fatal crashes.

Up to 1:00pm on December 31st 2019 a total of 148 people died on Ireland’s roads as a result of 137 fatal crashes; 13 of these deaths, alas, occurring in Co. Tipperary, that very same year.

In the majority of the above cases, these vehicle crashes were completely preventable.

Covid-19 Update: Fri. 13th Nov. 2020 – 7 Deaths – 482 New Cases

6 further new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 7 further death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,972.

There are 482 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 67,099.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 6 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,336 cases to date, per RTE summary); 128 in Dublin; 45 in Cork; 43 in Waterford; 24 in Donegal; 24 in Meath; 36 in Limerick with the remaining 176 cases located across 19 other counties.

Currently, there are 258 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 35 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland have announced that a further 11 people have died from Covid-19 virus. An additional 607 new cases of the virus have also been confirmed there.

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that people should avoid non-essential travel for the foreseeable future, including over the Christmas period.

While nationally there is a steady decline in Covid-19 hospitalisations, the number at University Hospital Limerick, latter serving North Co. Tipperary, continues to rise with 41 virus patients being treated in the medical facility last evening. In South Tipperary General Hospital Clonmel 2 Covid-19 virus patients are receiving treatment.

Over the past two weeks, ending November 9th last, the Roscrea-Templemore area of Co. Tipperary had an incidence rate of 259 cases per 100,000 people, while the Nenagh Area of Tipperary had an incidence rate of 215 cases per 100,000 people. The incidence rate in both Tipperary areas were above the national average, currently set at 151.5 cases.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at over 53 million [Global Cases – 53,045,087] with global deaths at almost 1.30 million [Global Deaths – 1,297,746].

Covid-19 Update: Thur. 12th Nov. 2020 – 1 Death – 395 New Cases

11 further new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 1 further death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,965. (One death denotified)

There are 395 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 66,632. (Ten confirmed cases denotified)

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 11 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,330 cases to date, per RTE summary), 132 are located in Dublin; 31 in Cork; 27 each in Donegal, Limerick and Galway with the remaining 140 cases are spread across 17 other counties.

The R (reproductive) number of the virus in Ireland is down to 0.6.

Currently, there are 279 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 39 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

An Tánaiste Mr Leo Varadkar is wisely advising people attempting to book flights home to Ireland for the Christmas holidays, not to do so presently. Speaking in our Irish parliament, Mr Varadkar has stated that it was too soon for people to book flights to return to Ireland, adding that such international travel could reseed the Covid-19 virus here. This advice comes as the Irish Airline Pilots Association call for the urgent introduction of a mandatory rapid antigen testing regime, in order to enable the reopening of the aviation sector.

The Department of Health in Northern Ireland have announced that a further 15 people have died from Covid-19 virus, taking their official death toll to 825. An additional 548 cases of the virus have also been confirmed there.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at almost 52.5 million [Global Cases – 52,437,443] with global deaths at almost 1.29 million [Global Deaths – 1,288,529].
