7 Killer Covid-19 virus cases in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 7 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,043.

There are 206 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 71,699.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 7 are in Tipperary (1485 cases in Co. Tipperary to date, per RTE Location breakdown as of 25th November); 64 are located in Dublin; 23 in Limerick; 20 in Donegal; 18 in Cork; 14 in Louth; 14 in Meath; with the remaining 46 cases located across 17 counties.

This evening there are 248 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 35 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News
From next Tuesday, the entire country will move to Level 3 in the Covid-19 plan, with some modifications.

Some of the easing restrictions sanctioned by the Irish government

  • The population are required to continue to stay within their county, other than for work, education or other essential purposes, but were possible, people should continue to work from home.
  • ‘Wet pubs’ will not reopen.
  • Households are asked not mix with other households outside their bubble until Christmas week.
  • Higher education should remain online.
  • People should now wear face coverings outdoors on busy streets, inside crowded workplaces and in places of worship.
  • Hotels and guesthouses may reopen, with services limited to residents only.
  • Non-essential retail and services will be allowed to resume.
  • Weddings with up to 25 guests will be permitted, as will funerals with up to 25 mourners.
  • Places of worship will reopen, as will museums, galleries, cinemas, gyms and swimming pools.
  • Gatherings of 15 people may take place outdoors where non-contact is possible.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at over 61.3 million with global deaths at well over 1.43 million.

Covid-19 Update: Thur. 26th Nov. 2020 – 3 Deaths – 335 New Cases

19 Killer Covid-19 virus cases in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 3 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,036.

There are 335 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 71,494.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 19 each in Co. Tipperary and Co. Cork; 119 in Dublin; 29 in Kilkenny; 23 in Limerick; 20 in Donegal; with the remaining 106 cases located across 19 other counties.

This evening there are 246 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 35 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News
Minister for Social Protection Ms Heather Humphreys has confirmed that over 1.6 million people currently in receipt of State benefits are set to receive a Christmas bonus, same payable in the week beginning 7th December, at a total cost to the Exchequer of €390 million. Same Pandemic Unemployment Payment recipients will retain their entitlement to this Christmas bonus, even if they do return to work when public health restrictions are eased next week.

HSE Chief Executive Mr Paul Reid is imploring the public to continue to follow public health guidance to preventing the spread of Covid-19, even if restrictions are eased following expected announcements tomorrow, as expected. Ireland now has the third lowest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of population of 31 EU countries.

NPHET are of the firm opinion that it would be preferable to continue to only have takeaway service for restaurants and pubs during Christmas.

Meanwhile,World Health Organization Executive Director Dr. Mike Ryan has stated that the arrival of vaccines will not mean zero Covid-19. Dr. Ryan has warned that the relaxation of restrictions will inevitably lead to an increase in virus transmission. He further warned that the Irish Government’s tactics in relation to the easing of current restrictions over the Christmas period, will affect the outcome.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at almost 61 million with global deaths at well over 1.42 million.

Finally, inform your children; Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Simon Coveney, has confirmed that Santa Claus has been deemed an essential worker and will not be subject to Covid-19 travel restrictions when he arrives in Ireland on December 24th 2020.

Pupils Test Positive For Covid-19 In Tipp Primary School

Multiple coronavirus cases have been confirmed in urgent correspondence forwarded to parents on Tuesday, November 24th last, from a primary school here in Co Tipperary.

According to the Irish Mirror today, school officials have stated that the children who had tested positive, were in two separate classes and had NOT been in school for a number of days.

The letter sent to parents and guardians reads:
“I am writing to inform you that two pupils in separate classes have tested positive for Covid-19 today.

These pupils have not been in school for a number of days and they were both asymptomatic over the weekend. You will appreciate the school has to respect the confidentiality of the families involved and has to abide by Data Protection Laws.

If your child has not been identified as a close contact, he/she does not need a test and he/she can safely continue to attend school as normal. No further actions are required on your part.”

Figures, published today, show schools are the third most likely place to record clusters of the virus.

Covid-19 Update: Wed. 25th Nov. 2020 – 6 Deaths – 269 New Cases


Killer Covid-19 virus cases increase in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,033. (One confirmed case de-notified)

There are 269 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 71,187. [12 previously confirmed cases now de-notified]

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; (1462 in Co. Tipperary per RTE Location breakdown as of 23rd November); 88 are in Dublin; 42 in Cork; 25 in Limerick; 20 in Louth; 16 in Donegal; with the remaining 78 cases located across 17 other counties.

This evening there are 260 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 36 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News
An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has said the Government intends to ease restrictions for close to two weeks over the Christmas period and will only reimpose higher controls if Covid-19 rates are observed as increasing.

Sadly 7 coronavirus deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland today, four of which occurred in the past 24 hours. This brings their total death toll to 954.

The executive director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has said it needs to know Covid-19 vaccines are safe, of high quality and importantly, effective, before granting fullapproval, but she is hopeful a positive opinion will be delivered before Christmas 2020.

Covid-19 Update: Tue. 24th Nov. 2020 – 6 Deaths – 226 New Cases

23 further killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,028.

There are 226 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 70,930.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 23 are located in Co. Tipperary; 64 in Dublin; 41 in Donegal; 13 in Limerick; 12 each in Louth and Wicklow, with the remaining 61 in 16 other counties.

This evening there are 289 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 36 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News
Health Minister Mr Stephen Donnelly has signed regulations that give Gardaí the power to fine people €80 for not wearing masks on public transport or in a retail setting.

Found organising an event in a private dwelling or elsewhere will carry an on the spot fine of €500. Fines of €150 are now in place for those attending such an event in a private dwelling, while breaching travel regulations can lead to an on the spot fine of €100.
