Covid-19 Update: Sat. 5th Dec. 2020 – 13 Deaths – 456 New Cases.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 13 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,099.

There are 456 new additional virus cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 73,948.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 197 are in Dublin; 37 in Donegal; 33 in Limerick; 21 in Louth; 20 in Kilkenny; with the remaining 148 cases located across the 21 other counties.

Seven coronavirus-related deaths have been sadly recorded in Northern Ireland, taking their official Department of Health toll to 1,039. An additional 451 new virus cases have also been confirmed taking the cumulative total todate to 54,628.

There were 231 people bring treated in hospital with Covid-19, with 28 of these being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units across the Republic.

Specialist freezers, required to store Covid-19 vaccines, have started to arrive in Ireland, the Health Service Executive chief Mr Paul Reid has revealed. When fully installed, Ireland now has the capacity to acquire 16 million doses of any Covid-19 vaccine.

Students attending the University of Limerick are being offered free Covid-19 tests before they travel to their homes here in Tipperary and elsewhere for the Christmas break.

With Ireland’s 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population standing at about 78.3; people are being urged by all health experts to make every possible effort to keep safe, if heading out and about this weekend, in a collective effort to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at well over 66.1 million with global deaths at well over 1.52 million.

Covid-19 Update: Fri. 4th Dec. 2020 – 6 Deaths – 265 New Cases.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,086.

There are 265 new additional virus cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 73,491.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 84 are in Dublin; 19 in Donegal; 28 in Louth; 27 in Limerick; 15 each in Galway and Wicklow; with the remaining 77 cases located across 18 other counties.

There were 232 people bring treated in hospital with Covid-19, with 27 of these being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units across the Republic.

Ireland’s 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population is now 78.3.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at well over 65.5 million with global deaths at well over 1.51 million.

Covid-19 Update: Thur. 3rd Dec. 2020 – 6 Deaths – 183 New Cases.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 6 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,080.

There are 183 new additional virus cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 73,228, however, a technical IT issue may have led to an under-reporting of some 100 cases today.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 56 are in Dublin; 26 in Donegal; 13 in Limerick; 11 each in Kilkenny and Monaghan; with the remaining 66 located across 15 other counties.

Other Covid-19 News
Health Service Executive Mr Paul Reid is urging people to keep a heightened level of guard over the coming weeks, when meeting friends.
Mr Reid said that there is understandably a natural urge to hug people and wish them a Merry Christmas after spending time at a restaurant or a gastropub, but he warned this will pose an extreme risk.

The Government has stated that the Pfizer / BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine could be available in Ireland from early January, once it is approved by the European Medicines Agency.

There were 239 people bring treated in hospital with Covid-19, with 32 of these being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units across the Republic.

Northern Ireland have recorded 11 further coronavirus deaths and confirmed a further 456 new cases.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at well over 64.8 million with global deaths at well over 1.49 million.

Covid-19 Update: Wed. 2nd Dec. 2020 – 5 Deaths – 270 New Cases.

Covid-19 cases in Tipperary reach 1535 in overall total, according to the Department of Health, as of November 30th last.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 5 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,074.

There are 270 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 73,066.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 58 are in dublin; 38 in Donegal; 28 in Wicklow; 25 in Mayo; 24 in Limerick; with the remaining 97 cases located across all remaining other counties

Other Covid-19 News
Minister for Health Mr Stephen Donnelly has said he believes that a Covid-19 vaccine should be rolled out for free. However, he said that no Government decision has been made.

There are 31 people being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units across the country, on a day when Ireland had the lowest 14-day incidence of Covid-19 in the EU according the latest ECDC figures.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at well over 64.1 million with global deaths at well over 1.48 million.

Covid-19 Update: Tue. 1st Dec. 2020 – 18 Deaths – 269 New Cases.

19 killer covid-19 cases in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 18 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,069.

There are 269 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 72,798.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 19 are in Tipperary (1516 cases as at November 29th); 73 in Dublin; 20 in Kilkenny; 20 in Limerick; 19 in Louth; with the remaining 118 cases located across 20 other counties.

This evening there are 244 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 31 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News

A further 15 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Northern Ireland, taking the Department of Health toll to 1,011. There were also 391 new cases of the virus confirmed.

In the last 7 days, 2,178 students and staff underwent testing for Covid-19 at 115 schools around the Irish Republic with 38 cases detected.
Latest figures from the H.S.E.bring to 23,346 the total number of children and workers tested in 833 schools since early September 2020.

The Irish government has approved an advance purchase agreement for 875,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, produced by Moderna, to be delivered early in 2021; as soon as there is approval from the European Medicines Agency.
