An Tánaiste Mr Leo Varadkar has informed the Dáil that getting daily Covid-19 cases down to the low numbers achieved last year, is not a prospect due to the B117 Coronavirus variant.

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been sadly 3 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,631.

There have been 606 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 232,758.

Of the cases today; 75% are under 45 years of age, with 249 cases confirmed in Dublin, 57 in Donegal, 39 in Kildare, 32 in Meath, 31 in Louth, with the other remaining 198 cases located across all other counties.

There have been 5,320 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including March 23rd, 2021. Also 259 cases have been confirmed in the past 14 days, up to March 24rd, with 22 new cases confirmed within the past 24 hours.

There are 312 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 75 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.

Some 503,796 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to March 22nd, with 186,653 persons having received their second dose.

The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:30pm this evening, now stands at wellover 124.97 million confirmed, with global deaths at well over 2.74 million.

Covid-19 Update: Wed. 24th March 2021 – 18 Deaths – 683 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been sadly 18 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,628.

There have been 683 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 232,164.

Of the cases today; 75% are under 45 years of age, with 308 cases confirmed in Dublin, 68 in Donegal, 49 in Kildare, 35 in Meath, 30 in Offaly, with the other remaining 193 cases located across 21 other counties.

There have been 5,295 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including March 22nd, 2021. Also 243 cases have been confirmed in the past 14 days, up to March 23rd, with 23 new cases confirmed within the past 24 hours.

There are 329 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 76 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.

Some 495,824 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to March 20th, with 184,191 persons having received their second dose.

The number of Covid-19 cases identified in schools last week more than tripled from the week before. Some 110 cases were detected following the mass testing of schools in the week ending March 20th, according to the HSE’s weekly Covid-19 mass testing report for schools and childcare facilities.

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been sadly 24 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,610.

There have been 371 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 231,484.

Of the cases today; 151 are in Dublin, 31 in Offaly, 27 in Donegal, 25 in Galway, 21 in Meath, with the other remaining 116 cases located across 16 other counties.

There have been 5,286 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including March 22nd, 2021. Also 235 cases have been confirmed in the past 14 days, up to March 21st, with 8 new cases confirmed within the past 24 hours.

EMA executive director Emer Cooke has stated that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) hope to be able to approve the Russian Sputnik V vaccine for use in Europe’s current vaccine roll-out.

“Covid-19 case numbers are possibly rising”. That is according to Professor Martin Cormican, latter the HSE’s lead for infection control, as he warns of yet another possible surge of the virus taking place.

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been sadly 1 further death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,588.

There have been 520 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 231,119.

Of the cases today; 242 are in Dublin, 36 in Meath, 30 in Offaly, 29 in Kildare, 25 in Wicklow, with the other remaining 158 cases located across 20 other counties.

Covid-19 Update: Sun. 21st March 2021 – 2 Deaths – 769 New Cases

Health Service Executive’s Chief Clinical, Dr. Colm Henry has expressed concern over what he calls a “stubbornly high” level of Covid-19, which is corroborated by some 500 – 700 plus, new cases being identified here in the Republic, on a daily basis, and also in the increase in referrals made by GPs seeking virus tests.

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has been sadly 2 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,587.

With the highest daily increase in cases reported since Friday 26th of February last; this evening we report there have been 769 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 230,599.

Of the cases today; 284 are in Dublin, 67 in Donegal, 47 in Offaly, 45 in Meath, 44 in Kildare; with the other remaining 282 cases located across 20 other counties.

There have been 5,232 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including March 19th, 2021.

There are 360 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 82 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.

The Minister for Public Expenditure Mr Michael McGrath has stated that Ireland’s hotel quarantine system, dealing with arrivals from designated countries is due to come into effect by the end of this week; with Minister for Health Mr Stephen Donnelly, to outline how this system will work, in the coming days.

With the Health Service Executive having now resumed administering AstraZeneca vaccine at several hospitals across the country, some 478,725 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to March 18th, with 171,526 persons having received their second dose.

The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:30pm this evening, now stands at over 123.00 million confirmed, with global deaths at well over 2.71 million.
