Man Found Dead Following Tipperary House Fire.

A thorough investigation is under way in Co Tipperary after the body of a man was discovered at the scene of a house fire.

Gardaí were alerted around 5:00am this morning and responded to reports of a house fire in the St. Michael’s Avenue area of Tipperary town.
Fire crews quickly fought the blaze bringing it under control, however sadly the body of a man, understood to be aged in his 30s, was discovered inside the building.

The body remains at the scene of the blaze, while a technical examination take place.

Gardaí, today, are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anything unusual at the time of the fire, to contact them at Tipperary Town Garda Station on Tel: 062-80670.

Second Tipperary Fire Over Halloween Festival Weekend

Gardaí are treating as an incident of criminal damage, a non related fire at a hay barn in the Ardfinnan area of Co. Tipperary, that also occurred over the weekend.

The fire is understood to have occurred at around 7:00pm on Sunday, October 25th near Clonmel in the south of the county. This area was also preserved for a technical examination after the fire was successfully extinguished.

16 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Tipperary

There are 859 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 56,108.

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been 4 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,882.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 16 are in Co. Tipperary (1,063 cases to date, per RTE summary); 192 in Dublin; 148 in Cork; 58 in Donegal; 55 in Galway; 54 in Monaghan;, with the remaining 336 cases located across the 20 remaining counties

New laws enabling gardaí to break up house parties is most likely to take effect this weekend; having been passed by the Oireachtas. This legislation now awaits the signing into law by President Michael D. Higgins.
It will take a number of days before on the spot fines, for breaches of law, such as not wearing a face covering or travelling further than 5km from your place of residence, are made fully operational.

Currently, there were 315 confirmed cases of Covid-19 nationally in our State’s hospitals and 38 of these patients are in intensive care units.

There were 923 new cases in Northern Ireland bringing their total number of confirmed cases to 33,209, with 6 further deaths from Covid-19 virus in the past 24 hours.

Total global cases this evening now stand at over 42 million [42,395,907] with global deaths well over 1.1 million [1,146,596].

Covid-19 Update: Thur. 22nd Oct. 2020 – 3 Deaths – 1,066 New Cases

11 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been 3 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,871.

There are 1,066 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 54,476.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 11 are in Co. Tipperary (1,038 cases to date per RTE summary); 244 are in Dublin; 104 in Galway; 98 in Cork; 92 in Meath; with 517 cases located across the remaining counties

The national 14-day incidence rate is now 302 per 100,000 of the population, with the reproductive rate estimated at around 1.3 and 1.4.

Retail Excellence has appealed to shop owners to abide by the current rules, amid reports that some non-essential retailers are justifying remaining open by stocking small amounts of items classed as essential.

Up until last evening in University Hospital Limerick, (latter the medical facility serving North Tipperary), there were 14 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 18 suspected cases, with 4 such cases in ICU.
In South Tipperary’s Clonmel General Hospital there were 7 suspected cases.

Currently, there were 313 confirmed cases of Covid-19 nationally in hospitals and 37 of these patients are in intensive care units, up 3 since yesterday.

Total global cases this evening now stand at almost 41.5 million [41,396,754] with global deaths well over 1.1 million [1,133,699].

FSAI Recall Milk From Arrabawn Co-op

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) have advised Arrabawn Co-op, latter headquartered in Nenagh, North Co. Tipperary, to recall certain batches of milk that are potentially unsafe due to the presence of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria.

Nature Of Danger:
Enterobacteriaceae are a group of bacteria, of which some can be harmful to humans. The test for Enterobacteriaceae is used as an indicator of poor hygiene, process failure and/or post-processing contamination of heat processed foods. The test itself does not confirm the presence of harmful bacteria.

Action Required by the FSAI:
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches [Approval No. IE 1439EC] immediately from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected batches were sold.

Gardaí Uncover Cannabis Grow House In Tipperary

Planned Garda Search Uncovers Drugs Estimated At €22,000

On Thursday last, (October 8th), a search warrant was executed by members of Cahir District Detective Branch on an area in Ardfinnan, South Co. Tipperary.

During the course of this planned search a Cannabis grow-house was discovered, containing a large quantity of Cannabis Herb.

The value of the drugs seized is estimated at €22,000, pending further analysis.
