It was with great personal sadness I learned of the death today, Saturday 6th January 2018, of Mr Tommy Ryan, The Line, Curraghduff, Upperchurch, Thurles, Co Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his baby daughter Katie Therese; the passing of Mr Ryan is most sadly missed by his loving wife Joan; family John, Mary (O’Sullivan), Michael (Current Tipperary County Senior Hurling Manager and former player), Anneita (Treacy) and Joan Marie (Allis); sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchildren; sister Chris; nephews; nieces; extended relatives; neighbours and many friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Ryan, will repose at O’Dwyer’s Funeral Home, Upperchurch, Thurles on Monday evening from 4.00pm, with removal at 7.00pm to the Sacred Heart Church, Gortnaskehy, Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary.
Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday morning at 11.30am, followed by burial immediately afterwards in nearby Upperchurch cemetery.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death today, Friday 5th January 2018, of Mr Michael Murphy, No.1 Iona Avenue, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Born in 1940, in Thurles; Mr Murphy played as a left wing-back for the Tipperary senior team. He first played competitive hurling whilst at school in Thurles CBS and arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team. At club level Murphy won eight championship medal with Thurles Sarsfields.
He made his senior debut in the 1960 Oireachtas Tournament going on to enjoy a brief inter-county career with Tipperary, and won one All-Ireland medal, one Munster medal and one National Hurling League medal. He captained the team to an All-Ireland title in 1964. Throughout his career Mr Murphy made 5 championship appearances for Tipperary, retiring at the conclusion of the 1964 championship.
Predeceased by his father Mick, mother Ann (nee Coffey), brothers Sean and Noel and sister Nelly; the passing of Mr Murphy is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Bridget; sons Paul, Aidan and Michael; daughters Fiona and Ciara; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchildren; sisters; his uncle John (Coffey, also an All-Ireland medallists with Tipperary); brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; extended relatives; neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Murphy will repose at Egan’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles, on Sunday evening next, 7th January from 4.00pm to 7.00pm, to arrive at the Church of St. Joseph and St. Brigid, Bothar-na-Naomh, Thurles on Monday morning, 8th January at 9.15am.
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning, 8th January, at 10.00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death today, Wednesday 3rd January 2018, of Mrs Patricia (Pattie) Cooney (née Fanning), Galboola, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by her husband Mickey, daughter Bridget, son Michael and grandson Michael; Mrs Cooney passed away peacefully, after a short illness, in the wonderful care of the Matron and Staff of Padro Pio Nursing Home, Holycross and under the constant care and love of Laura and Benny.
Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving family; Mary, John, Catherina (Shoer), Ella (Coman), Mairéad and Laura; sisters Bridget (O’Dwyer) and Margaret (Tracey); brothers Sean, Larry, Jimmy and Paddy; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sons-in-law Leonard, Willie, Joseph and Benny; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; extended relatives; neighbours and many good friends.

Requiem Mass will take place on Friday 5th January at 11.30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning, 4th January, at 11.00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Old Shyan Cemetery.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death, on Saturday 30th December 2017, of Ms Teresa Morrissey, Fieldbrook, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Glasnevin, Co. Dublin and Coalbrook, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by her parents Martin and Johanna, brothers John and Ned and sister Mary; Ms Morrissey passed away pecefully at her residence. Her passing is most deeply regretted by her brother Dick and Martin; sisters Sr Eileen, Sr Johanna, Catherine, Anne, Angela and Margaret; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; extended relatives and friends.

The earthly remains of Ms Morrissey will repose at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise from 5.00pm on this evening Tuesday, with rosary at 6.30pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 11.30am in Our Lady of Dolours Church, Glasnevin, Dublin. Cremation will follow afterwards in Glasnevin Crematorium.
