It was with great sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Wednesday 7th February 2018, of retired Garda Detective, Mr Walter Dowd (Thurles Garda Station), Willowmere Drive, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by his sister Marion, Mr Dowd passed away peacefully while in the loving care of St. Theresa’s Nursing Home, Dublin Road, Thurles.
His passing will be most deeply regretted by his loving wife Breda; sons Raymond, Bernard, Fergus and Gordon; daughter Miriam; daughters-in-law Louise and Veronica; son-in law Jimmy; grandchildren Bobby, Stephen, James, Siobhán, Rachel, Eimear, Niall and Eabha; cousins; extended relatives; friends and kind neighbours.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Dowd will lie in repose at Egan’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles, on tomorrow evening Friday 9th February 2018 from 5.00pm with removal at 7.00pm to the Cathedral of The Assumption, Thurles.
Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 11.00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Tuesday 6th February 2018, of Mr John Troy, Drom, Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr Troy passed away while in the loving care of the staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his wife Sally, sisters Anna, Mary, Sr. Mairead and brother Tobias; his passing is most deeply regretted by his sister Patricia; brother-in-law John Daly; nieces; nephews; extended relatives; neighbours and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Troy will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Borrisoleigh today, Wednesday, from 5.30pm with removal at 7.00pm, to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Drom, Co. Tipperary, at 7.30pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11.30am, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Monday 5th February 2018, of Mr John Francis (Tipp) O’Dwyer, Henry Laffan Heights, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr O’Dwyer passed away peacefully at South Tipperary General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving daughter Joanne; grandchildren Katie and Jude; Janet; brothers Jim, Anthony & Joe; sisters Mary (Whiting), Sarah (Cummins), Bridget (Dwyer), Margaret (Fallon), Kathleen (Tierney), Philomena (Barry) and Ann (Nevin); son-in-law Mark; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; extended relatives and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr O’Dwyer will repose at his home on tomorrow, Wednesday February 7th 2018, from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.
Removal will take place on Thursday morning to the Church of St. Joseph The Worker, Moyglass, Fethard. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11.30am, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death, Sunday 4th February 2018, of Mrs Ann Nancy Fitzgerald (née Ryan), Beechwood Grove, Monakeeba, Thurles, and formerly Kincora Terrace, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mrs Fitzgerald passed away peacefully in her 86th year at her residence most deeply regretted by her loving daughters Margaret and Mary; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended relatives; carers; community intervention team; neighbours and many good friends.

It was with great sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Saturday 3rd February 2018, of Sr. Cecilia Hall, Sisters of Mercy, Athy, Co. Kildare and late of Graystown, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by her parents Robert and Ellen Hall; brothers Ned, Tim and Bobby; sisters Bessie, Teresa, Sr. Claude and Sally; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Sr. Cecilia passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy.
Her passing is most deeply regretted by her nieces; nephews; Mercy Community and Congregation, extended relatives and friends.

The earthly remains of Sr. Cecilia will lie in repose in St. Vincent’s Hospital Chapel, Athy, from 2.00pm on tomorrow afternoon, Monday 5th, with prayers at 5.00pm, followed by removal to St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy, Co. Kildare to arrive at 6.00pm.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11.00am on Tuesday morning, February 6th, followed by interment in St. Michael’s New Cemetery, Athy, Co. Kildare.
