Death Of Harold Whelan, Formerly Of Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, on Friday 5th September 2025, of Mr Harold Whelan (Late of Eircom), Hilltop Drive, Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick and formerly of Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Whelan passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at Millbrae Lodge Nursing Home, Newport, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Betty, sons Michael, Harold and David, daughter Alison,daughters-in-law Merry and Espie, son-in-law Philip, adored grandchildren Alex, Javier, Ben and Kate, brothers Michael and Joe, sisters Eleanor, Bernie, Ann, Tina and Caroline, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Whelan will be received into the Church of St Paul, St Nessan’s Road, Dooradoyle, Limerick on Monday afternoon, September 8th, to repose from 5:00pm to 6:30pm same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Whelan on Tuesday morning, September 9th, at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Castlemungret Cemetery, (R859), Castlemungret, Co. Limerick.

Death Of Sr. Mary Gleeson, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 5th September 2025, of Sr. Mary (Noreen) Gleeson, late of Cork City, Co. Cork; Dublin and formerly of Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her parents Sean and Kathleen Gleeson, beloved sister Áine (Coffey) and brother Micheál; Sr. Mary passed away peacefully at the Bon Secours Convent, Glasheen, Cork.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving brother Sean, sisters-in-law Tess and Theresa, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended relatives, neighbours, friends, past and present colleagues at Bon Secours Hospital, Glasnevin, and her Bon Secours Community.

The earthly remains of Sr. Mary will repose at the Jerh. O’Connor’s Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road, Doughcloyne, Cork City, Co. Cork, (Eircode T12 KX08), on tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, September 7th, from 5.00pm until 6.00pm same evening.

Her remains will be received into the Church of the Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Sunday’s Well, Cork, (Eircode T12 CA34) on Monday morning, September 8th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St James’ Cemetery, Chetwynd, Co. Cork.

Death Of Caoimhe O’Dwyer, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Thursday 4th September 2025 of Ms Caoimhe O’Dwyer, Cabragh Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and late of Boherlahan, Cashel, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her sister Aisling, uncle Richie, grand-parents Val and Josie Needham (Grangemockler), Sheila and John O’Dwyer (Boherlahan); Ms O’Dwyer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of staff at University Hospital Limerick and Milford Care Center.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving parents Carmel and John, sister Aoife, aunt Breeda, uncles Val and Tom, extended relatives, neighbours, Enable Ireland, Irish Wheelchair community, many friends and her faithful dog Coco.

Her remains will be received into the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Boherlahan, Cashel, on Sunday September 7th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Ardmayle Cemetery, Ardmayle, Cashel Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, on Thursday 15th May 2025, of Mrs Eileen Fleming (née Ryan), Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, England; formerly of Fontenoy Terrace, Stradavoher, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Tom, parents Mathew and Nan (Ryan) the passing of Mrs Fleming is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving daughter Margaret, son Thomas, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law Kenny, daughter-in-law Debbie, sister Ann O’Dwyer (Hill View, Killahara, Thurles), nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Death Of Sean McLoughlin, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Monday 1st September 2025, of Mr Sean McLoughlin, Willowmere Drive, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, formerly of Rahelty, Thurles, Dwans Mineral Waters, Cantrell & Cochrane Limited (C & C), and proud former player with Thurles Sarsfields and Tipperary GAA.

In his 90th year and pre-deceased by his loving wife Eileen (née Moloney), parents Bill and Annie, adored sisters Madeline (New Zealand) and Agatha (Westport), brother Seamus (Dublin), sisters-in-law Kathleen and Maura, brothers-in-law Michael and Gar; Mr McLoughlin passed away peacefully following a brief illness, while the care of his family and staff at University Hospital, Limerick City, Co. Limerick.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving daughters Lucy and Carmel, sons Liam, Brian and Jim, their partners, sisters Anne O’Donovan (Tullamore) and Carolyn O’Flangan (Blackrock, Dublin), wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Seamus Moloney, Billy O’Donovan and Peter Flanagan, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours, carers Joanne, Margaret and Zaville, friends and his much loved and admiring GAA community.

His funeral cortège will walk from his place of residence (Willowmere Drive, Thurles), on Friday morning, September 5th, to be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
