Covid-19 Numbers Confirmed Today At 3,214 On Irish Mainland.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,940 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, here in the Republic of Ireland. Yesterday saw a significant jump on daily case figures compared to the previous few days when cases were confirmed below 1,000.

There are 352 patients currently in hospitals with the virus, two fewer than yesterday, with 74 of these patients in our ICU’s, up 1 since yesterday. As of yesterday also, sadly 5,280 people have died with Covid-19, here in our Republic.

Government officials look set to confirm October 22nd next as the date when our hospitality sector here can begin to operate at something close to normal. An Taoiseach Mr Micheál Martin has said he will make a further announcement on the final lifting of all Covid-19 restrictions; but intimated that there may be some further rules introduced, with regards attendances at nightclubs.

In Northern Ireland another 1,274 cases of the virus has been confirmed over the past 24 hours, by the their Department of Health,

Their latest hospital figures show there were 360 patients with Covid-19 are in hospitals, while sadly 4 more coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland on today.
The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland since the start of the pandemic is 2,585.

Northern Ireland’s health minister Mr Robin Swann, has warned that those spreading “misinformation and lies” about Covid vaccines are putting lives at risk. “Unfortunately, whilst we have seen so many people work so hard on our vaccination effort, there have been a small minority – a tiny minority – that are determined to spread misinformation and lies”, he stated

He further stated that their remained those who chose not to accept the truth and who seem set on putting the health and well-being of fellow citizens at serious risk.

Continue to keep yourself and your family safe by regularly washing your hands, wearing a mask when appropriate, opening your windows to ventilate indoor spaces, and choose outdoors where possible when meeting other family and friends.
