Death Of Noreen O’Dowd, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Sunday 31st July 2022, of Mrs Noreen O’Dowd (née O’Donoghue), Rossestown, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Moyneard, Moyne, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Michael, her parents Mary and William and brother Peter; Mrs O’Dowd passed away while in the care of staff at South Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving family, daughters Eileen, Lisa and Emma, son Mark, son-in-law Davy, daughter-in-law Ciara, sisters Breda, Helen, Theresa, Philomena, Geraldine and Ann, brothers Johnny, Joe, Bill and Michael, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, work colleagues in the Community Hospital of the Assumption and many good friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs O’Dowd will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles on Wednesday evening next, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Her body will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Thursday morning at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed immediately afterwards by interment in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mrs O’Dowd, but are unable to do so; same can be viewed online HERE.

Episode 2.

Four Thurles wives were waiting for a bus on Liberty Square in the town; on Saturday last.

As they waited the subject of each of their individuals social classes in local Tipperary society, became a topic for discussion.

The first wife Mrs Taytum Kenny says, “I’m a YUPPIE; you know, Young, Urban, Professional.”

The second wife Mrs Stefani Brown says, “I’m a DINK; you know, Double Income, No Kids.”

The third wife Mrs Arleth Hayes says, “I’m a RUB; you know, Rich, Urban, Biker.”

All three now turn to the fourth wife and one of them asks, “So what are you?”
Mrs Amelia Gilroy replies, “I’m a WIFE; you know Wash, Iron, Fold, Etc.”

Death Of Greta Hallinan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Saturday, 30th July, 2022, of Mrs Greta Hallinan (née Connolly), Monadreen, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Ballyclough, Carrickbeg, Carrick On Suir, Co. Waterford.

Mrs Hallinan passed away peacefully, after a short illness.

Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Eily and her brother Maurice; her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving husband Declan, son Barry, daughter-in-law Lorraine, grandchildren Evie and Molly, brother Billy and sister Nora, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

The earthly remains of Mrs Hallinan will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Homes, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on tomorrow evening, Monday, August 1st, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, at 7:45pm.
Requiem Mass will be held on Tuesday morning, 2nd August, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Saturday, 30th July, 2022, of Mrs Ellen (Nellie) O’Mahony (née Martin), The Glebe, Oola, Co. Limerick and late of Knockfune, Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Michael and son John; the passing of Mrs O’Mahony is most deeply regretted by her loving family, sons Gerard, Willie, Mikie, Tommy, Pat, Tony, Philly, T.J. and Alan, daughters Breda, and Eileen, adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, sisters Theresa and Winnie, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives and wide circle of friends.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Oola, on Tuesday morning, August 2nd, 2022, at 11:30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the local cemetery.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Friday, 29th July, 2022, of Mr Mark McKenna, Coolcroo, Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Predeceased by his father Billy; his passing is most deeply regretted by his heartbroken family, his mother Lily, brothers Michael, Paul and Liam, sisters Elizabeth, Deirdre, Claire, Mary, Siobhan, Helen and Catherine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great friends Peggy, Mary and Melissa, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Interment will take place immediately afterwards in Two-Mile-Borris Cemetery, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
