Sometimes When We Touch.
Vocals: Bonnie Tyler (Latter born Gaynor Hopkins in Skewen, Wales, known for her wonderful distinctive husky voice). Original Lyrics: Dan Hill. Music: Barry Mann.
Dan Hill was inspired to write this beautiful song, after being in love with someone who did not have similar feelings to himself; in the hope same would capture her and win her over.
Sometimes When We Touch.
You ask me if I love you. I choke on my reply. I’d rather hurt you honestly, Than mislead you with a lie. And who am I to judge you, On what you say or do? When I’m only just beginning, To see the real you.
And sometimes when we touch, The honesty’s too much, And I have to close my eyes and hide. I wanna hold you ’til I die, ‘Til we both break down and cry. I wanna hold you, ‘Til the fear in me subsides.
Romance with all its strategy, Leaves me battling with my pride. And through the insecurity, Some tenderness survives. I’m just another writer, Still trapped within my truth. A hesitant prize fighter, Still trapped within his youth.
And sometimes when we touch, The honesty’s too much, Then I have to close my eyes and hide. I wanna hold you ’til I die, ‘Til we both break down and cry. I wanna hold you, ‘Til the fear in me subsides.
Oh at times I’d want to break you, And drive you to your knees. At times I want to break through, And hold you endlessly.
And sometimes when we touch, The honesty’s too much, And I have to close my eyes and hide. Yes I wanna hold you ’til I die, ‘Til we both break down and cry. I wanna hold you, ‘Til the fear in me subsides.

Ireland’s first satellite EIRSAT-1 (Educational Irish Research Satellite 1), which has taken just over five years to develop, is now ready for launching, possibly between mid-January and mid-February of this current year.
The satellite was designed, developed, built and tested at University College Dublin (UCD) and will be launched 520km into the sky from the European spaceport in French Guiana, on the northeast coast of South America, before orbiting the Earth for some five years; to return to earth and UCD.
Last year the Irish Government signed of an agreement to facilitate the launch of the developed EIRSAT-1 satellite, having received funding from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI); the Irish Research Council; Enterprise Ireland, UCD, Openet, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESE). The Irish government intend to register the satellite on the UN Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space.
Assistant professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UCD, Dr David McKeown, was the engineering manager on the project, and this being the first Irish designed satellite; Dr McKeown hopes this project will lay the ground work for larger satellites into the future.

A farming family near the village of Lorrha, at the north tip of Co Tipperary, say they have lost more than 70 sheep, following a savage dog attack on their flock after Christmas.
The attack was first discovered by local farmer Mr Donal O’Donoghue, on December 27th, which found some 50 sheep killed and another 20 having to be put down due to serious injuries.
Since the initial discovery, a number of sheep that had survived the attack have also since died.
The Chairperson of the Irish Farmers Association, Mr Kevin Comiskey has stated that such ongoing dog attacks, (the 3rd attack in the midwest in recent weeks), on sheep flocks are no longer acceptable and he has called for an emergency meeting at top government level to obtain legislation, including proper responsibility for dog licensing and compulsory microchipping, same to be brought solely under the control of the Department of Agriculture.
Following this Lorrha December 27th savage attack, some sheep still remain missing, others have been located with their entire faces and body parts ripped off. Those located dead were found strewn about everywhere at the location.
Gardaí are now investigating and we understand they have already attended at the scene of this savage attack.
