Death Of Nancy Green, Formerly Clonmore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Friday 21st June 2024, of Mrs Nancy Green (née Leahy) “The Cova”, Ballymahon Road, Athlone, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Clonmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Green passed away peacefully.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; loving husband Eamonn, daughter Carole and son Fran, daughter-in-law Maeve, six adored grandchildren Dara, Niamh, Jack, Caoilinn, Fergal and Maolíosa, brother, sisters-in-laws, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Green will repose at Flynn’s Funeral Home, The Strand, Athlone, (N37 WY17) on Sunday afternoon, June 23rd, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
Her remains will be received into the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Coosan Point Road, Clonbrusk, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, to further repose for Requiem Mass on Monday, June 24th, at 12:00 noon, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Coosan Cemetery, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

Blood Transfusion Service Visits Thurles Next Week.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will visit Thurles, Co. Tipperary for 4 days next week. The service will attend at The Dome, Semple Stadium, Thurles from next Monday, June 24th, until Thursday, June 27th, from 4:50pm8:10pm each day.

This year, it is estimated that the Blood Transfusion Service will require at least another 15,000 new blood donors nationally, so first-time blood donors are especially invited to come along or make an appointment by Telephoning 1800 222 111.

With increasing demand for blood, here is an opportunity for both existing donors and new donors to assist in saving a life, which could in fact be their own.

Death Of Tom Stokes, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death on Wednesday June 12th 2024 of Mr Tom Stokes, London UK and formerly Coalbrook, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In his 77th year, Mr Stokes passed away peacefully at his place of residence, following a long illness, surrounded by his family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family, including adored grandchildren.

The earthly remains of Mr Stokes will be received into the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Cresswell Park, Blackheath, London, (SE3 9RD), on Wednesday morning, 3rd July 2024, at 11:00am, followed by a committal service at Eltham Crematorium, Crown Woods Way, London, United Kingdom, (SE9 2AZ), at 12:30pm. same afternoon.

[Those in attendance are invited to please join the family for light refreshments in the Church Hall following the funeral service.
For family and friends in Ireland, a Mass will be celebrated on July 26th, at 12:00pm at the Church of St Patrick and St Oliver, Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary followed by refreshments in the church hall for all those in attendance.]

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death on Thursday 20th June 2024 of Mr Tom Kirwan, Tyone, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Horse and Jockey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In his 95th year and pre-deceased by his beloved wife Rita, brothers Paddy Martin Jimmy, John and Stephen, sisters Winnie, Nell and Nancy; Mr Kirwan passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at Rivervale Nursing Home, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; Martin, Tom, Elaine and Ruth, son-in-law Gerry Reynolds, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Kirwan will repose on Sunday evening, June 23rd, at Ryan’s Funeral Home Knockanpierce, Nenagh (E45 KN93), from 6:00pm until 7:30pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of St Mary of the Rosary, Church Road, Nenagh, on Monday morning, June 24th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Lisboney Cemetery, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
