Death Of Stephen Gahan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday 11th February 2025 of Mr Stephen Gahan, Fethard Street, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Gahan passed away peacefully, while in the loving care of staff at St Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny City, Co. Kilkenny, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Ellen (Nellie), son Peter and partner Fiona, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Gahan will repose at Brett’s Funeral Home, No 6 Kickham Street, Mullinahone, Thurles, on tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, February 13th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Church of St Michael, Kickham St, Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary to further repose for Requiem Mass on Friday morning, February 14th, at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery, Killaghy, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of Josie Hayes, Rossmore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Monday 10th February 2025, of Mrs Josephine (Josie) Hayes (née Foxe), Doorish, Rossmore, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Aughacrew, Annacarty, Co. Tipperary.

In her 104th year and pre-deceased by her husband Jimmy and son Tommy; Mrs Hayes (Hayes Machinery, Ballagh, Clonoulty) passed away, while in the care of staff at Woodlands Nursing Home, Dundrum, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; sons Noel, Seamus, Joe, Brendan and daughter Maura (Tynan), daughters-in-law Catherine, Tricia, Helen and Alice, son-in-law Seamus Tynan, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends, and the staff of the Woodlands Nursing Home, Dundrum, (Latter who took care of her for the past 2 years).

Her remains will be received into the Church of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Rossmore, Co. Tipperary to further repose for Requiem Mass on Thursday morning at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Daniel Webster, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday, of Mr Daniel (Snowball) Webster, No. 6 Cashel Road, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth; the passing of Mr Webster is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving sons Philip (Snowflake) and Damien (Snowdrop), grand daughter Darcy (Snowbell), daughters-in-law Samantha and Aisling, brother Robbie, sisters-in-law Mary and Ann, brother-in-law Pat Hegney, extended relatives, neighbours and friends on Cashel Road.

Funeral Mass for Mr Webster will be celebrated on Thursday morning, February 13th at 11:30am, followed by interment in Crosscannon Cemetery, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Today Is Safer Internet Day In Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Today, February 11th, 2025, is ‘Safer Internet Day’ (SID). Safer Internet Day is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially for young people.

This year’s celebrations are based around the theme, “Prepare / Protect / Thrive: Navigating Algorithms and Influencers.”

This theme invites everyone to consider how algorithms and influencers shape lives.
