Death Of Paul Langton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, on Wednesday 21st July 2021, of Mr Paul Langton, Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his father Pat; Mr Langton passed away suddenly.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his sons Cian, Evan and Tadgh, his heartbroken mother Mary, brothers Shane and Aidan, sister Bríd (Heffernan), brother-in-law Denis, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours many, many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Langton will repose at the residence of his mother Mary, at Glengoole South (E41 K8 54) on tomorrow evening, Saturday July 24th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. His body will be received into the Church of St. Patrick and St. Oliver, Glengoole, Thurles on Sunday afternoon at 1:45pm to further repose for Requiem Mass at 2:00pm.
Interment will follow immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

[NB: Due to Public Health Guidelines, regarding C-19 virus restrictions; those attending (limited to 50 mourners) will continue to observe strict adherence to social distancing and face covering.]

Kickham Street Thurles Seriously Flooded.

**East on** **Kickham Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.**

Kickham Street, here east of Thurles town Co. Tipperary this evening, remains seriously flooded, following a severe rain storm that brought our Mediterranean weather to a swift halt.

The problem which has occurred this evening in the area is as a direct result of negligence by Tipperary Municipal District Council officials, who have ignored their responsibilities in the need to unblock drains in the area.

Photographs were sent on March 10th last, (Five months ago) explaining the problems on Kickham Street to the Thurles Municipal District Council engineer and to local elected councillors, which were totally and deliberately ignored.
Tipperary County Council can confirm same by viewing the numerous pictures sent to “Customer Service Desk” reference number T-151500-F3F1 and “Customer Service Desk” reference number T-151595-Y1S0.
Alas, there may be a Tipperary Co. Council “Desk” but regretably NO “Customer Service”.

Same flooding now threatens houses in the immediate vicinity of Aldi Supermarket and the entrance to Monakeeba housing estate.

Sewage manhole covers have been lifted by rising water and pedestrians and motorists are being asked to take great care.

Gardaí also confirm flooding on Friar Street in the town.

**West on Friar Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.**

We understand that buildings in the area were flooded out, including Lacey’s Butcher Shop and Mason’s former plummers premises.
Two units of Thurles Fire brigade were called to pump out the area pictured above, with the street completely closed during the operation.

2,723 Killer Covid-19 Cases On Island Of Ireland Today.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,386 new cases of Covid-19 today, in the Irish Republic.

The number of patients in hospitals from the virus has increased by 11 since yesterday, to number 106 today, with 22 cases in ICU’s.

In Northern Ireland today, sadly there has been 1 further death from this killer virus, together with a further 1,337 positive cases, bringing the total number of cases on the island of Ireland to 2,723. There remain currently 163 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19 in Northern Ireland’s hospitals.

Irish Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ronan Glynn, has condemned the misinformation being spread online, and how many people have been exposed to such information which is totally false, totally inaccurate and totally misleading and which had begun being spread about potential Covid-19 vaccines, even before same had been fully developed.

Here in Thurles, indeed we are sadly being subjected by a small minority of individuals to such undermining of vaccination efforts, being posted on social media, which may be putting a very small minority of lives at risk.

Same has not been helped by Tipperary elected TD’s failing to confirm whether or not they themselves have been fully vaccinated, some claiming that it was, “an infringement on civil liberties.”

Death Of Bridie Gorman, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with the deepest regret that we learned of the death, today Friday 23rd July 2021, of Mrs Bridie Gorman (née Butler), Lisduff, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Jackie and grandchildren John & Katie Ryan; Mrs Gorman passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving sons John, Matthew and Michael, daughters Kathleen Ryan (Littleton) and Margaret Bourke (Upperchurch), grandchildren Thomas, Maggie, Anna, Sarah, Paul, Ellen and Indira, great-granddaughter Emilia, Maggie’s partner Shane, sons-in-law Tom Ryan and Tom Bourke, daughter-in-law Majella, brother Matt, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Grey’s Funeral Home, Templemore on Saturday evening, July 24th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
The Funeral Service for Mrs Gorman will take place (Venue as yet unpublished) on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm, followed by cremation.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mrs Gorman, but are unable to do so, due to current coronavirus pandemic restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.
