Further 3,206 New Cases Of Covid-19 Confirmed On Island Of Ireland.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,861 further Covid-19 cases here in the Republic of Ireland. There are 249 people being treated with the virus in our hospitals and of these 54 Covid-19 patients remain in intensive care.

There have been, sadly, 15 further deaths related to Covid-19 notified in the Republic of Ireland in the past 7 days, according to the National Public Health Emergency Team. This brings the number of Covid-related deaths to now stands at 5,074.

Health Service Executive CEO Mr Paul Reid has today confirmed the biggest weekly delivery of vaccines with some 540,000 doses being delivered, hugely boosted by the first tranche of a total of 700,000 Romanian reallocated vaccines.

In Northern Ireland, 1,345 further cases were confirmed today, with, sadly, 11 further deaths recorded, latter the highest number since mid-February of this year.

The above confirmed figures bring to 3,206 the overall number of new Covid-19 cases present on the whole island of Ireland, reported over the past 24 hours.

Covid-19 has not gone away.

Death Of George Finn, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, on Monday 16th August 2021, of Mr George Noel Finn, Killakee Park, Firhouse, Co. Dublin and formerly of Sean Treacy Avenue, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his wife Philomena; the passing of Mr Finn will be most deeply regretted by his sons George, David and Martin, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Finn will repose for Requiem Mass at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Ballycullen Ave, Tallaght, Firhouse, Co. Dublin, 24, on Saturday morning, arriving for 10:00am.
Funeral Mass will be followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Ballymount Rd., Ballymount, Dublin 24.

Death Of Bridget Lloyd, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, today Wednesday, 18th August 2021, of Mrs Bridget Lloyd (née Butler), The Furze, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Williamstown, The Commons, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Sean; Mrs Lloyd passed away peacefully, at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness most bravely borne.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her daughters Breda, Mary, Barbara, Serena and Christina, son John, grandchildren, sons in law Thomas, David, Stephen (Healthy Haven), Darren and Bill, daughter-in-law Eleanor, brothers Anthony, George, Kevin and John, sisters Mary, Anne, Theresa, Helen, Patricia and Frances, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The earthly remains of Mrs Lloyd will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, for family and friends, on Thursday evening, August 19th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Her remains will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, on Friday morning next, August 20th, at 10:30am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am.
Interment will take place immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Gardaí & Family Seek Help In Locating Missing Cork Man.

A male, named as Mr Chris De Jager, understood to be aged in his 40’s, has gone missing from his home in Macroom, Co Cork, since late yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí are now seeking the public’s assistance in tracing Mr De Jager, who is described as being approximately 5ft 10ins in height; of stocky build; with black hair and brown eyes.

Mr De Jager was last seen in Macroom Town, in Co.Cork at approximately 5:25pm yesterday evening. He was driving in a Seat Altea car and it is believed that he may be in the Co. Tipperary area.

Gardaí say that his family are deeply concerned for his personal welfare.

Death Of John Burke, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we learned of the death, today Tuesday 17th August 2021, of Mr John Burke, Kylenahone, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mr Burke passed away peaceful, yet suddenly while in the care of staff at South Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Patsy, sons Conor and Johnny, daughters Mary, Patricia, Celma and Nóirín, sons-in-law Sean Thornton, Sean Barry, Niall Aughney and Tony Dorney, his sister Kitty (Collins), brother James, sister-in-law Nora (Byard), nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.
