The Department of Health in the Republic of Ireland has confirmed 1,459 new cases of Covid-19, within the past 24 hours; up 124 based on yesterdays reported figures.
Currently there are 296 people in our hospitals, latter figure up 14 on Saturday’s reported count.
There remain 65 patients in ICU, same figure unchanged since yesterday.

Professor Luke O’Neill (Professor of biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin) has stated that 100 immunologists who attended a recent conference in Munich, at which he attended, were speculating that the spring of 2022, could be a turning point in the fight to stamp out the current virus.
He further explained; “What that means is the virus has gone endemic and if you do catch it you’d have symptoms like the common cold. There’s a reasonable chance that it might get more benign. Other viruses become less troublesome as they spread and maybe this one will be more like that, so that’s a reasonable thing to say, but it’s an unknown to be honest.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Health in Northern Ireland has confirmed another 1,020 positive cases of the virus within the same 24 hour period.
Sadly, a further 6 patients, latter who had previously tested positive for Covid-19, have died.
Both figures north and south bring to 2,479 the number of coronavirus cases confirmed on the mainland of Ireland; latter figure up 24 in total on yesterdays reported figures.
Vaccination continues to offer the best protection against the most severe effects of COVID-19, including hospitalisation and death.
The latest text scams being sent to mobile phones and via fake email messages are making claims that they represent An Post, the Irish postal service, and involves customs payment for a package.
Those receiving these texts are being asked to pay import duty/tax and an advance fee for a parcel to be processed through the Irish postal service.
A link can be found at the bottom of the text usually using ‘anpost.ie.shipping-updates.co’ where unsuspecting customers, foolish enough to upload same are being asked to enter their personal information.
An Post are now warning their customers:-
“We are aware of fraudsters sending fake emails and texts to customers pretending to be from An Post. We are asking customers to remain vigilant and be ‘scam aware’.
“An Post will never send urgent requests or threats, use shortened links, [for example Bit.ly], or send messages that contain any links when contacting you about the payment of Customs Charges.”
If you want to find out where your personal data was acquired, chances are it was hacked in an incident where data was unintentionally exposed to the public, by e.g. ADOBE, Audi, Facebook, Dropbox, epik, LinkedIn, Myspace, eatigo etc, etc.. Compromised data obtained from these hacked sites include:- Email addresses, Names, Phone numbers, Physical addresses, Purchases and more.

Collection #1 remains the name of a set of email addresses and passwords that appeared on the ‘dark web’ possibly in January 2019. This database contains over 773 million unique email addresses and 21 million unique passwords, resulting in more than 2.7 billion email/password pairs.
The Department of Health has confirmed a further 1,335 new cases of Covid-19 here in the Republic of Ireland, in the last 24 hours; same figure up 172 on reported figures yesterday.
The number of people in our hospitals today stands at 282 of these 65 are being treated in intensive care units up 4 on yesterday’s figure of 61.
Yesterday, the Health Service Executive stated that those who are immunocompromised will be notified of an appointment for a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine from next week.

Here in the Irish Republic 381,883 Covid cases have been identified since the pandemic began, with sadly 5,209 Covid-related fatalities.
The 14 Day incidence of confirmed COVID-19 cases in each of the 8 local electoral areas of Co. Tipperary in the 14 days, between September 7th and September 20th, reveals that Thurles district has had the second highest number of Covid-19 cases (79); with Clonmel the worst affected district (99).
The Roscrea-Templemore district has the lowest number of cases, 24 in total, while Nenagh District has had 35 confirmed cases, Carrick-on-suir 41; Cahir 60, Newport electoral area 61, and finally Cashel-Tipperary Town District with a total of 74 cases.
Another 1,120 cases of the coronavirus were reported today in Northern Ireland, up from 1,030 reported yesterday.
This brings to 2,455 the number of Covid-19 cases reported on the Irish mainland today; up a further 262 cases on yesterday’s reported figures.

It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, today Saturday 25th September 2021, of Mr John Russell, Tinvoer, Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by his wife Anne, sons Damien and Oliver and brother Lar; Mr Russell passed away peacefully at his place of residence surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his daughters Noeleen, Ann Marie, Sarah, Mary, Laura and Emily, sons Nicolas and John Paul (New Zealand), sisters Ann and Joan, brother Pat, sons-in-law Paul, Donacha, Gordon and John, Nicholas’s partner Anne, John Paul’s partner Nicola, 26 grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Mr Russell will be received into the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady Loughmore, Templemore on Monday morning, at 11.30am, to repose for Requiem Mass; followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Russell, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.

It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 24th September 2021, of Mrs Nora Ryan (née Walsh), Kilclooney House, Moyne, Thurles, Co.Tipperary and Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
In her 96th year and pre-deceased by her husband Michael and sister Sr. Brendan; Mrs Ryan passed away peacefully, while in the care of the staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross, Thurles. Her passing is most deeply regretted by her sons Michael and Matthew, daughter Mary (Noonan), grandchildren Lynne, Eoin, Colm, Eva and Paul, son-in-law Tommy and daughter-in-law Bernie, sister Teresa (Carroll, Adare, Co Limerick) and her daughters Mary and Ann, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, sisters-in-law Nora and Nita, brother-in-law George, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mrs Ryan, will repose in Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on Sunday evening, September 26th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Her body will be received into the church of St. Mary, Moynetemple, Thurles on Monday afternoon, September 27th, at 1:00pm, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 1:30pm.
Interment will take place immediately afterwards in nearby St. Mary’s graveyard, Moyne, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
