Death Of Mary Moylan, Formerly Thurles Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Sunday 30th January 2022, of Mrs Marie (Mary) Moylan (née Liston) Sydney, Austrailia and formerly of Moyneard, Moyne, Thurles Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Moylan was pre-deceased by her brothers Dick, Paddy and Robert her sisters Pauline (O’Gorman, Clonmel) and Josie (Stokes).

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her much loved former husband Tim, immediate family members Robert, Fiona, Lance and Siobhan, daughter-in-law to Chantelle, grandchildren Tim, Hannah, Emily, Oscar and Valentina, sister Frances (Walsh), brothers Willie and John, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Moylan will repose for Requiem Mass on Friday morning next, February 11th, at 11:00am in the Catholic Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Buckley’s Road, Winston Hills, Sydney, Australia, followed immediately afterwards by private interment at the Castle Hill Cemetery, Gilbert Rd. Castle Hill Sydney.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended Requiem Mass for Mrs Moylan, but are unable to do so, due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic; same can be viewed online HERE. (Currently not on line at time of announcement.)

Death Of Monica Byrne, Formerly Thurles, Co.Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Tuesday 8th February 2022 today of Mrs Monica Byrne (née Prior), Dunkerrin Post Office, Dunkerrin, Co. Offaly and formerly of Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co.Tipperary.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy and grandson Andrew; Mrs Byrne passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her daughters Catherine (Smyth) and Anne (McCormack), sons Seamus and Patrick, grandchildren Claire, Michelle, Eoin, Conor, Clara, Padraig, Emma, Niamh, Kevin, Paddy and Louis, sons-in-law Paddy and Kevin, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

Mrs Byrne will repose at her place of residence on tomorrow Thursday, February 10th, before her earthly remains are received into the Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary, Dunkerrin at 7.30pm, to further repose for Requiem Mass on Friday, February 11th, at 12:00 noon, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Dunkerrin new cemetery.

Today 13,324 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed On Irish Mainland, Up 1,766 On Yesterday.

Here in the Republic of Ireland, within the past 24 hours, there have been 3,780 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19 reported by the Department of Health together with 5,585 people having registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
Both figures bring the total number of confirmed cases, in the Republic of Ireland, to 9,365 today; an increase of 912 cases, based on yesterday’s reported figures.
Overall on the Island of Ireland today, 13,324 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed, up 1,766 on yesterday.

As of 8:00am this morning, there were 646 patients being treated in hospital with the virus, an increase of 3 on the same time yesterday; with 72 of these patients, as of 11:30am, receiving treatment in intensive care units around the country; latter down 4 on yesterday’s reported figure.

In Northern Ireland today, a further 3,959 cases of coronavirus were confirmed today up from 3,105 reported yesterday.

There were 382 patients with Covid-19 in northern Ireland’s hospitals, up from 362 on Monday, with 15 of these patients in hospital intensive care units, up 1 on yesterday.

Sadly, 6 Covid-19-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland today, bringing the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, since the start of the pandemic, to 3,136.

The old priest lay dying, so he sent a message for the Local Tax Inspector and his Lawyer to come to his hospital bed.

When they both arrived, they were ushered up to his room. As they entered the room, the priest weakly held out his hands and motioned for them both to sit on each side of his bed.

The priest grasped their hands; sighed contentedly, smiled and stared at the ceiling.
For a time, all three men remained silent, still holding hands.

Both the Revenue Inspector and the Lawyer both felt flattered that this old man would ask them to be with him, during his final moments on earth.
However, they were also puzzled because the priest had truly never given any indication that he particularly liked either one of them.

Finally, the Lawyer asked, “Father, why did you ask that the two of us should come here?”
The old priest mustering all his strength, replied weakly, “Jesus died between two thieves, and that’s how I’d like to go.”

Death Of Daniel Dobbyn, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Monday 7th February 2022, of Mr Daniel Dobbyn, Clongour, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Predeceased by his daughter Catherine, sisters Ita, Bud, Veronica and Pamela, brothers Pascal and Seamus; Mr Dobbyn passed away peacefully at Aut Even Hospital, Co. Kilkenny.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, daughter Ann, son Jim, son-in-law Paul, sisters Kay and Esther, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Dobbyn will repose in Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Wednesday evening, February 9th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 7:45pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday morning, February 10th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards afterwards in Killinan Cemetery, Killinan, Nenagh Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
