It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 21st August 2026, of Mr John Joe Bourke, Farney Cottage, Ballycahill, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Jackie and Bridget (nee Cullagh), sisters Nuala and Bridget (Biddy) Nevin, brothers Willie, Eddie and P.J., niece Alice (Bourke) and grand nephew Josh (Nevin); Mr Bourke sadly passed away, while in the care of staff at St. Theresa’s Nursing Home, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving brothers Mike, Martin (Tony), Gerry, Ollie and Pascal, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Bourke will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 XY47), on Sunday afternoon next, August 23rd, from 5:30pm until 7:30pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, (Eircode E41 A528), at 8:00pm same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Bourke on Monday morning, August 24th, at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Moyne Road, Lognafulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
