A major planning development is being proposed for an area north of Thurles town, with plans already submitted since 2024, to the Tipperary local authority.
The developer, County Laois registered Irish construction company O’Ceallaigh Westfield Ltd(Michael Kelly) have now applied to Tipperary County Council for permission to construct 52 residential homes on Brittas Road, latter running north of Thurles Town.
It is understood that these proposed development plans would include: 3 x four-bedroomed homes; 15 x three-bedroomed semi-detached homes, 18 x three-bedroom terraced homes, and 2 x two-storey duplex blocks, latter containing eight units of one and two-bedroomed units.
The proposed plans are understood to seek permission for the demolition of an existing detached bungalow and to construct a new vehicular entrance to the site from the Brittas Road, while including necessary road surfaces and footpaths; resident and visitor parking; bicycle parking; one external communal bin store, while integrating fully with both the existing landscape and surrounding residential area.
A decision on this planning application is expected, from Tipperary County Council, by September 3rd 2025.
