Gardaí are seeking to return some 140 pieces of jewellery to their rightful owners. Each piece is believed to have been stolen somewhere in Ireland and Gardaí state they do not actually know from whence they were stolen.
The items in question include watches, pendants and rings, which were seized during a number multiple searches of a house in the greater Tallaght area, between February and April of 2021.
The items were placed on displayed at Crumlin Garda Station this morning and have an estimated value of some €165,000. Gardaí are convinced that the items were removed from private residential properties during a series of burglaries.
The items include rings and pendants worth €73,000; diamonds valued at €55,000, (latter which Gardaí believe may have been removed from their original settings), and 41 watches worth around €37,000.

Investigations are ongoing, following the seizure by Cashel Gardaí of cannabis herb and cocaine, with an estimated street value of some €13,000.

The seizure was made in the townland of Hugh’s Lot East in Cashel town, on Saturday September 4th last. Same seizure follows ongoing Garda investigation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Co. Tipperary.
Taxpayers in the Irish Republic will fund the legal costs in relation to the daughter of former Euromillions winner, Dolores McNamara, in a court case involving alleged unlawful cocaine possession.
Today, Solicitor Mr Daragh Hassett obtained legal aid at Ennis District Court, thus allowing him to represent 37 year old Ms Kevanne McNamara.
Ms McNamara’s close family connection to the €115 million winner, of August 2005, was not discussed during the hearing and Ms McNamara was not required to attend the court in person and therefore did not appear.
Ms McNamara stands accused in relation to a minor drugs charge, contrary to Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
Judge Ms Mary Larkin adjourned the case to October 6th next, same to be heard at Ennis District Courthouse.
As a result of the ongoing Garda investigation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Clonmel Garda district; officers from Carrick-on-Suir Garda Station, accompanied by members of the Clonmel Drugs unit executed a search warrant last week at a house in the Carrick Beg area of the town.
During the course of this search, officers seized 1,100 Xanax tablets, quantities of cocaine and cannabis, with a total street value estimated at some €3,300, together with a quantity of cash.
A 40 year old male was arrested and later detained at Clonmel Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 4 of the criminal Justice act 1984. He was later released without charge, pending a file being sent to the to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Clonmel Gardaí Investigate Sheep Killing near Moyglass, Co. Tipperary.
Meanwhile, Fethard Gardaí report that they are investigating a disturbing incident which occurred on Saturday August 28th, 2021 last, in the Moyglass area of Clonmel District.
A sheep was located dead by its owner; killed by blunt force trauma to the unfortunate animals scull.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for any witnesses or persons with CCTV, Phone or Dashcam footage to contact them at Clonmel Garda Station on Telephone No: (052) 6177640.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 24th last, 2021, shortly after 5.30pm members of the Garda District Drugs Unit and Unit A, Clonmel carried out a search on a number of individuals at the Ard Gaoithe Business Park, Cashel Road, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Same persons had been observed as acting in a suspicious manner in the area.

Following the Garda search, heroin and crack cocaine, with a street value of approximately €1450, was seized.
A male in his mid 20’s was arrested at the scene and later detained at Clonmel Garda Station. Two motor vehicles were also seized by Gardaí at the same location.
One other of the males present, understood to be in his early 20’s, was later arrested on suspicion of assault, following an incident which occurred here in Thurles town, earlier in the month.
