Yoga Thurles Workshops.
Yoga Thurles will present two Yoga Workshops this coming weekend, especially for Tipperary’s youth.
Both these workshops will take place on this coming Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 at the popular venue; the Angel Shop, Baker Street, (Accessed off Friar Street, or via the Parnell Street Car park) here in Thurles.
The first Workshop will begin with ‘Yoga for Children’, ages 8-12 years old, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, and this will be followed by ‘Yoga for Teens’, latter whose ages range from 13-19 years old, beginning sharp at 2:00pm until 4:00pm
Children and Teen Yoga.
Children and teenage Yoga classes are both based on exploring and connecting to all around us and our inner selves. These workshops will explore why Yoga, in recent times, has become so popular; such as:-
(1) How does Yoga benefit the body and mind, helping us to find simple ways to rebalance in our busy everyday lives.
(2) What different postures do for us and how the body works better from a simple Yoga practice.
(3) How to breathe better and why we should.
(4) How to tell when we are stressed and what we can do to reduce this stress.
This Saturday, these workshops will be led by M/s Marie Mills, latter a ‘Stress Reduction Specialist’ and ‘Yoga Practitioner’ here in Thurles and the upcoming workshops will cover topics such as; mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, simple visualisations, mind mapping and creative bursts.
Reading will also comes alive with Yoga and is a highlight at these workshops, with those attending using and creating various postures to bring the story alive. Yoga Thurles always remind students, “if it’s not fun…it’s not Yoga”.
Note: The cost of these workshops is €20 for each workshop and Booking is Essential.
For further information contact Marie Mills on Tel: 086-1778369 or why not visit www.yogamariemills.com or the Yoga Thurles Facebook page.
“Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Matthew 15:27.
The long promised provision of free GP care for Tipperary residents, aged over 70 years old, will begin from today.
This provision is understood to be the next step towards the present Government’s plans for its long promised Universal Healthcare and follows the recent controversial roll-out of free GP care for all children under 6 years, latter introduced last month.
These new introduced health measures will apply to more 35,000 people nationally who qualify as being 70 years of age and over and who do not currently hold a Medical or GP visiting card.
This new provision is expected to cost the state between €18 and €20 million per year. Same costs are therefore reasonable when taxpayers consider that €1,016,924 (Over One Million) in special allowances, (including €610,763 for public relations) was paid out to cover just 29 Labour /Fine Gael government ministers and TD’s; to boost that little-known ‘Special Secretarial Allowance’ (Click Here – it is a must read) since the General Election of 2011 of which Tipperary TD’s, namely Mr Alan Kelly and Mr Tom Hayes, respectively, gleaned €89,269.00 (A.K. €9,000.00 for IT, Training & Public Relations) plus €18,581.00 (T.H. €7,933.00 for PR), which collectively amounts to €107,850.00, courtesy of Irish citizens generosity.
However on a positive note, both these health moves will be seen as an important step forward in achieving Universal Health Care; with the youngest and oldest in Irish society now able to access GP care without being charged.
Although the scheme will be observed as good news for Ireland’s elderly, those now eligible for free GP care, under this scheme, will not have access to Allied Health Care Professionals, e.g. Public Health Nurses and Physiotherapists.

Your prayers are required tonight for a three-year-old Tipperary boy who is reported to be in a critical condition, following an accident at a hotel swimming pool.
The incident occurred shortly before 2:00pm today at the three-star, 25-bedroomed Quality Hotel, Redbarn, Youghal, in east Co. Cork.
The boy and his family were understood to be in the leisure centre swimming pool when the boy got into difficulty.
The boy, who was on holidays with his family, was taken from the water by two lifeguards who administered CPR before he was immediately airlifted to Cork University Hospital by the Waterford-based Coast Guard helicopter.
The four-year-old has since been transferred to the Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street, Dublin, this evening.
Gardaí are investigating, however the incident is being treated as an unfortunate workplace accident.
