Covid-19 Update: Wed. 20th May 2020 – 11 Deaths – 64 New Cases

“We must keep our distance now, in order to be closer in the future.”

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Monday, May 18th last, has been recorded as 528, an increase of 3 recorded new cases, within a 24 hour period.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 11 people have tragically died from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland over the past 24 hours. These latest figures place the total number of deaths since this pandemic began, to 1,571.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 64 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception to 24,315, as at 11:00am today, Wednesday.

Today is the fifth time since mid-March that the number of new confirmed cases has remained nationally below the figure of 100.

Dublin remains as having the highest number of cases at 11,733 (49% of all cases), while Kildare has 1,379 cases (6%) followed closely by Cork with 1,376 cases (6%)

Some 87% of confirmed virus cases diagnosed have now recovered.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glynn has stated that the message to all employers is, where it is possible, limit employees coming into their places of work.
Advice on the two-hour limit for meetings discussed yesterday, will last beyond Phase 5 of the lifting of restrictions.

Covid-19 Update: Tue. 19th May 2020 – 16 Deaths – 51 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Sun, May 17th last, this evening has been recorded as 525, an apparent increase of 1 only recorded new cases, within a period of 24 hours.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 16 people have tragically died from the virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures placing the total number of deaths from this pandemic nationally, sadly to 1,561.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 51 new cases of coronavirus have been identified nationally, bringing the total since conception to 24,251.

Today is the forth time since mid-March that the number of new confirmed cases has fallen nationally below the figure of 100.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has stated that the virus has now been suppressed and its impact on public health has been limited.

Covid-19 Update: Mon. 18th May 2020 – 4 Deaths – 88 New Cases

Today, here in Co. Tipperary, Phase One of the government’s plan for easing covid -19 restrictions got underway.

Under Phase One, some construction work has begun on the new carpark here in Thurles and also on the Lidl site on Slievenamon road. Hardware stores have reopened and local residents are meeting outdoors in small groups.

Work has also started today on the layout of a new local authority housing development involving the construction of 28 houses, in Thurles, on the Mill Road area of the town.

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Sat, May 16th last, this evening has been recorded as 524, an apparent increase of 1 only recorded new cases, within a period of 24 hours.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 4 people have tragically died from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures bring the total number of deaths from this pandemic nationally, sadly to 1,547.
Two of these cases we understand refer to April of this year and the two others refer to the past weekend.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 88 new cases of coronavirus have been identified nationally, bringing the total since conception to 24,200.

Today is the third time since mid-March that the number of new confirmed cases has fallen nationally below the figure of 100.

Covid-19 Update: Sun. 17th May 2020 – 10 Deaths – 64 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Friday, May 15th last, this evening has been recorded as 523, an apparent increase of 7 recorded new cases, within 48 hours.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 10 people have tragically died from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures bring the total number of deaths from this pandemic nationally, sadly to 1,543.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 64 new cases of coronavirus have been identified nationally, bringing the total since conception to 24,112.

Today is the second time since mid-March that the number of new confirmed cases has fallen nationally below the figure of 100.

Let us all NOT now become complacent and go backwards.

Covid-19 Update: Sat. 16th May 2020 – 15 Deaths – 92 New Cases

No new cases of the Covid-19 virus has been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Wednesday, May 13th last, with the total number of cases identified, reduced by 8, (Same 8 cases we understand have been reassigned to another county) from 524 to 516, up to and including that date.

The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 15 people have tragically died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures bring the total number of deaths from this pandemic, sadly to 1,533.

This evening, Health Chiefs have also confirmed that an additional 92 cases of coronavirus have been identified nationally, bringing the total since conception to 24,048.

Today is the first time since mid March that the number of confirmed cases has fallen below the figure of 100.

Yesterday, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar warned that people should use face coverings when using busy public transport or in an enclosed indoor public area, as part of the Phase One easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

If for medical or work reasons you are wondering where to avoid over the coming weeks, then Co. Dublin has the highest number of cases at 11,657 (49% of all cases); followed by Co. Kildare with 1,357 cases (6%), and Co. Cork with 1,346 cases (6%).
