Her passing is most deeply regretted sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; her loving sisters Noelle (Barry), Bernie (Neville) and Patricia (Shorten), her brothers-in-law Garrett, Mike and Mervyn, sister-in-law Bridie, nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended relatives, Presentation Community and Congregation and friends.

The earthly remains of Sr. Carmel will repose at the Presentation Convent Chapel, Cathedral Street, Thurles, tomorrow afternoon Sunday, March 22nd, from 3:00pm until 6:00pm, concluding with Evening Prayer. Requiem Mass for Sr. Carmel will be offered in the the Presentation Convent Chapel on Monday morning, March 23rd, at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Patrickswell, (Lough Gur) Cemetery, Co. Limerick.

His passing is most deeply regretted sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; children, Denise, Shane, Tomás, Nives and Matthew, daughter-in-law Tina, sons-in-law Ambrose and Joe, nine grandchildren Karl, Gordon, Cormac, Alexander, Gabrielle, Douglas, Evan, Rebecca, Aoise and four great grandchildren, Ezra, Arlo, Eli and Leon, sister-in-Iaws Pauline and Bernadette, brother-in-law John, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Butler, will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 CP59), on Friday afternoon, March 20th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening. His remains will be received into the Church of St John the Baptist, Church View Clonoulty, Cashel, (Eircode E25 CY91), on Saturday morning, March 21st, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by a Service of Cremation in Shannon Crematorium on Sundayafternoon, March 22nd, at 3:00pm. Interment of his ashes will take place in Clogher cemetery, Clonoulty, Cashel at a later date.

As we already stated on Tuesday last March 17th, Thurles was alive with atmosphere and community pride as the town celebrated St Patrick’s Day with a well-attended parade that brought people together from across the area.

Despite cold and cloudy conditions, large crowds gathered along the streets of Thurles, creating a vibrant and welcoming scene throughout the day. Families, friends, neighbours and visitors turned out in great numbers, with a strong sense of occasion evident from beginning to end.
The parade was a fitting reflection of the spirit of Thurles and the wider mid-County Tipperary community. It showcased the town’s warmth, resilience and pride, while also highlighting the importance of St Patrick’s Day as one of the most significant dates in Ireland’s cultural and civic calendar.
People of all ages joined in the celebrations, lining the route in good spirits, applauding participants and embracing the event with enthusiasm. The day offered a strong expression of local identity and community togetherness, as residents and visitors alike came together to celebrate Irish heritage and shared belonging.
Thurles continues to be a thriving and proud town in County Tipperary, and this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade once again demonstrated the strong community values for which it is so well known. The lively crowds and positive atmosphere underlined the town’s reputation as a friendly, welcoming and united place.
