Death Of Edward Sweeney, Formerly Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Monday 17th February 2025, of Mr Edward Patrick Sweeney, formerly Templemore, Co. Tipperary; Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, UK., and late of Reenmore, Ahakista, Bantry, Co. Cork.

In his 90th year and pre-deceased by his parents Edward Patrick (Templemore, Co. Tipperary) and Emily (née Thursby, Liverpool UK.), Mr Sweeney, sadly passed away suddenly at his place of ordinary residence.
A former miner (Hilton Main Colliery UK), Schoolmaster (Bluecoat C of E school, Dudley UK) and Company Director of EPS Construction (Northern) Ltd, Mr Sweeney had latterly retired to Ireland, since 2003.

A loyal and true friend to many, his passing will be sadly missed for his kind, gentle and modest manner and his great sense of fun and generosity. His passing remains deeply regretted, by his sorrowing family; loving wife Eileen (née Lewis) sisters-in-law Patricia Hall and Lynn Lewis UK, brother-in-law Michael, nieces Julie and Joanne, nephew Michael, grandniece Hannah grandnephews Bradley, Theo and George, great-great-grandniece Rosa (all UK).

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Sweeney will repose at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry, Co. Cork (P75 YW58) on Tuesday afternoon, February 25th, from 4:00pm until 5:30pm.
A private funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday afternoon, February 26th, at The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork,, followed by a reception at Carrigaline Court Hotel, Main St, Carrigaline West, Carrigaline, Co. Cork, (P43 RH21).

For those persons who are unable to attend the Cremation Service for Mr Sweeney, same can be viewed, streamed live online, HERE.

Also a sincere thanks to the Ambulance, Garda and Medical Team who attended Ed at his passing”.

Death Of Pat Carey, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Tuesday 18th February 2025 of Mr Patrick (Pat) Carey, Howth, Co. Dublin and formerly of Garrycummer, Kilcommon, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his brother Seamus and sisters Nora and Mary; Mr Carey passed away peacefully at his place of ordinary residence, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Ann, son Rory, daughter Áine, sisters Teresa and Bridget, brother Larry, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours, friends and his four legged friend Elvis.

The earthly remains of Mr Carey will repose at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock, Dublin, (D13 E0A2) on Friday afternoon, February 21st, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Howth, Dublin, on Saturday morning, February 22nd, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 10:00am, followed by interment in Balgriffin Cemetery, The Fountain, 3 Limekiln Lane, Balgriffin, Dublin 17, (D17 C677).

Death Of Mary Tobin, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Wednesday 19th February 2025 of Mrs Mary Tobin (née O’Shea), Clashduff, Coalbrook, Ballingarry (South Riding), Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her parents Edmond and Annie, husband David and brother Dick; Mrs Tobin passed away peacefully at Willowbrook Lodge Nursing Home, Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; daughter Elizabeth, son Tom, son-in-law Tom O’Brien, daughter-in-law Mary Rose, brother Willie, grandchildren David, Maura, Coleen and Keira, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will be received into the Church Of The Assumption, Ballingarry Upper (SR), Thurles, on Friday morning, February 21st, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.

Death Of Dan Ryan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great personal sadness that I learned of the death, today Tuesday 18th February 2025, of Mr Daniel (Dan) J. Ryan (Hugh Ryan Funeral Directors), Edelmount, Dublin Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

In his 92nd year and pre-deceased by his father Willie Hugh, mother Nora (née Dwyer, Milltown, Clonoulty), brothers Hughie, Billy and Johnny, sister Carmel (Downey); Mr Ryan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, while in the care of staff at St Theresa’s Nursing Home, Thurles.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife Mary (née Gardiner), sons Donal and Hugh, daughter-in-law Orla, grandchildren Daniel and Róisín, brother Paddy, sister Eileen (Calkin), nephews, nieces, sister-in-law Alice (Donnelly), brother-in-law Tom, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Death Of Pat White, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Sunday 16th February 2025, of Mr Pat White, (Slievnamon Agri Service), Tullicussane, Drangan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his loving parents Richard and Johanna, sister Nellie, nephew Thomas Cahill and brother-in-law John (Phelan); Mr White sadly passed away after a short illness, while in the care of staff at the ICU ward of South Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel; surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving wife and best friend Eileen, daughter Elaine, sons Richard, Padraig, John and Martin, sister Rosie, sisters-in-law Alice and Mary, brothers-in-law Michael, Donal and Martin, daughters-in-law Bridget, Aileen, Deirdre and Linda, son-in-law Ronan, grandchildren Avril, Evan, Molly, Hannah, Eoin, Ciara, Eve and Sineaid, nieces Margaret, Mary, Josephine and Helen nephews Richard P, Micheál and Richard, extended relatives, neighbours, a wide circle of friends and staff past and present of S.A.S.

The earthly remains of Mr White will repose repose at his place of ordinary residence on Wednesday afternoon, February 19th from 2:00pm until 8:00pm same evening, (Tullicussane, Drangan, Eircode E41 CD96).
His remains will be received into the Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Drangan on Thursday February 20th, at 1:00pm, to further repose for Requiem Mass, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining cemetery.
