Gardaí, the HSE and the Department of Health are asking people to be fully aware of a number of scams taking place in relation to Covid-19 vaccination.
This warning follows reports of a number of people receiving fraudulent telephone calls and text messages, seeking personal details, coming from low-life individuals over the past few days.
Gardaí confirm that a number of people have received messages requesting private and sensitive information, including addresses, dates of birth, and PPS numbers.
In some cases people do confirm their address, and state they live at home on their own, leaving the caller / scammer then offering to visit their place of residence, to render vaccination services.
Note: The HSE has stated that they will never text or call people asking them for personal information, and will never request payment for either a Covid-19 vaccine or a test for the virus, as same is totally free.
