15th September 2026 Man Dies In Four-Vehicle Collision In Cashel

A man, understood to be in his 60s has died following a collision involving a van and three cars at Cooper’s Lot on the R688 in Cashel, Co Tipperary, at approximately 5:40pm yesterday afternoon Monday, 14th September.

The man, who was driving one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is due to take place at University Hospital Waterford.

The van driver, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel. No other injuries were reported.

The road was reported closed this morning for a forensic examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage from anyone travelling in the Cooper’s Lot area between 5:00pm and 6:00pm on Monday.

This fatal Cashel collision, yesterday, brings to 8 the number of people killed on Tipperary roads so far this year.
