It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Friday 11th September 2026, of Mr John Carey, Coolnamona, Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his mother Sadie (née Fennelly), aunts Kathleen, Mary and Maureen; Mr Carey, sadly, passed away following a long illness, most bravely borne, while in the care of staff at Waterford University Hospital, Co. Waterford and previously St James’s, Hospital, Co. Dublin.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving father Seamus, sisters Siobhán, Aileen (Egan), and Sandra (Maher), brother James, brothers-in-in law John and Ger, sister-in-law Siobhan, nephews Daragh, John, Pádraic, MJ and Ronan, nieces, Sadie, Meadbh, Grace, Sarah, Róisín, Isabelle and Aoife, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Carey will repose at O’Dwyer’s Funeral Home, Cappanaleigh, Upperchurch, Thurles, (Eircode E41 FN34), on tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, September 13th from 5:00pm, before being received into the Church of St Mary, Drombane, Thurles, (Eircode E41 T880), at 7:30pm same evening.
Requiem Mass for Mr Carey will be offered on Monday morning, September 14th at 11:30am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in Upperchurch Cemetery, Cappanaleigh, Upperchurch, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
