It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, on Wednesday 9th September 2026, of Mr Michael (Mick) Shanahan, No 6 The Village, Rathcabbin, Roscrea, Co Tipperary and late of Newtown House, Cloughjordan, and formerly of Gurrane, Latteragh, Templederry, Nenagh.
Pre-deceased by his parents Michael and Nora, brother Seamus, niece Louise, parents-in-law Eileen and Freddie (McBride); Mr Shanahan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, while in the care of staff at Tullamore General Hospital, Co Offaly.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving partner Sonia (McBride), son Graham (Ballysimon Co Limerick), daughters Rosie and Catherine, sisters Mary (Fitzpatrick – Youghlarra, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary), Nonie (Hogan – Monaquill Killeen, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary), brothers Tommy (Ashford, Co. Wicklow), Paddy (Nenagh, Co. Tipperary), Gerard (Shannon, Co. Clare), nephews, nieces, aunts Molly and Una, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, extended Shanahan and McBride relatives, neighbours and friends.families.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Shanahan will repose at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Unit 4b, Knockanpierce, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary on Saturday afternoon, September 12th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
A private funeral cortège, from his home at Rathcabbin, will be received into the Church of the Immaculate Conception Templederry, on Sunday morning, September 13th, at 11:45am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon, followed by interment in nearby Templederry New Cemetery, Cloghinch, Templederry, Co. Tipperary.
