Death Of Gerry Mortimer, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Sunday 26th April 2026 of Mr Gerry Mortimer, Lisaroon, Ballycahill, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Mountrath, Co. Laois.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Eileen, his parents Mary and Timothy, his brothers Paddy, Timmy, Tony, Oliver and Seamus, sisters Marie, Elsie, Peggy and infant sister Anne; Mr Mortimer, sadly, passed away while in the care of staff at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny.

His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; loving daughters Caroline and Gillian, sons-in-law Denis and Rob, adored grandchildren Brandon, Chloe, Leah, Rebecca, Paige, Vanessa and Andrew, his great grandson Donagh, brother Joe, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Mortimer will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles, (Eircode E41 XY 47), on Tuesday afternoon, April 28th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, before being received into the Church of St Laurence O’Toole, Monroe, Bouladuff, Co. Tipperary, at 8:00pm same evening.
Requiem Mass will be offered for Mr Mortimer on Wednesday morning, April 29th, at 11:30am followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Lognafulla, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
