It was with great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Wednesday 8th May 2024, of Mr Laurence (Larry) Lonergan, Galbertstown, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Ellen, brothers Patrick, Thomas and John, sister Margaret (Fitzgerald); Mr Lonergan passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family, while in the care of staff at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
His passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; brother Michael (Galmoy), sisters Eileen (Barry, Clonoulty), Mary (Jones, Surrey), Alice (Bourke, Borrisoleigh) and Sr Catherine (Sisters of Mercy, Thurles), nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Lonergan will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on tomorrow afternoon, Friday, May 10th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, before being received into the former Cistercian Monastery Abbey, at Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, at 7.45pm, same evening.
Requiem Mass for Mr Lonergan will be celebrated on Saturday afternoon, May 11th, at 3:00pm, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in the adjoining graveyard.
