Gardaí Seek Help Following Robbery At Two Tipperary Churches

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to anyone who may have observed persons acting suspiciously in or around two churches in south Co. Tipperary, late on Friday or early Saturday morning last.

Gardaí were contacted and attended at the scene of two burglaries yesterday morning in Clonmel, where it is understood that individuals forced entry into St. John The Baptist Church, Powerstown, and St. Oliver Plunkett & Irish Martyrs Church, St. Oliver’s Square, Elm Park, in the town.

In both churches, a small quantity of cash was removed from candle shrine, donation, collection boxes.

As yet no arrests have been made, but further investigations are ongoing.
