Covid-19 Update: Sat. 6th June 2020 – 9 Deaths – 24 New Cases

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has stated that it was vital that people adhered to necessary guidelines going forward with regards to the Covid-19 virus, thus ensuring there is not any strong resurgence of the epidemic.

Dublin remains with the highest number of Covid-19 virus cases at 12,127 (48%) followed by Cork with 1,528 cases (6%) with Kildare close behind with 1,423 cases (6%).

Earlier today, Health Minister Simon Harris confirmed that there were 123 people in hospital with Covid-19, here in the Republic.

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Thursday, June 4th last, remains at 540, with 0 new cases notified within a 24 hours period. South Tipperary General Hospital, has currently no confirmed cases of the disease

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 9 persons have sadly passed away from the Corona-19 virus here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,678.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 24 new cases of the virus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,183.

People are being warned again to avoid large gatherings / family celebrations in private homes etc..
