Covid-19 Update: Tue. 2nd June 2020 – 8 Deaths – 10 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Sunday, May 31st last, is recorded at 538, with 8 new cases notified within a 24 hours period.

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 8 persons have sadly passed away from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,658.

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 10 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,066.

People are still being urged to continue the course ahead of the now expected second phase of Covid-19 restrictive easing, due next week.

The President of Public Health at the UK’s Royal Society of Medicine Dr Gabriel Scally, latter author of the report into the Cervical Check controversy, has stated that Ireland’s record in controlling the Covid-19 outbreak has been ‘exceptional’ in comparison with our neighbours Britain.
