A Garda search warrant was executed shortly before 7:00pm yesterday; on an address at Ballyrichard Road, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary.
During the search, Gardaí located a polytunnel to the rear of the property which contained an estimated €8,000 of suspected cannabis plants.
The plants seized by uniformed Gardaí from Carrick-on-Suir, assisted by the Clonmel Garda Drugs Unit, will now be sent for further analysis.
Also seized on the property were a hydraulic press; a number of extractor fans and other paraphernalia, normally associated with drug production.
To date, no arrests have been made but investigating Gardaí are understood to be following a definite line of enquiry.
