Covid-19 Update: Mon. 1st June 2020 – 1 Deaths – 77 New Cases

The total number of Covid-19 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Saturday, May 30th last, is recorded at 530, with 1 new case notified within a 24 hours period.

The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 1 person have sadly passed away from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland, over the past 24 hours. These latest figures leave the total number of deaths caused by this pandemic currently at 1,650, [2 death receiving virus de-notification].

This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 77 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception, here in the Republic of Ireland, to 25,062.

Dr Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, has stated that more than 3,285 people have been hospitalised, with 90% of patients having recovered.

He also warned that it is essential that we continue to practice hand and cough hygiene and social distancing, while the additional hygiene measure of face coverings in appropriate settings should also be followed.
