Death Of Mary Canty, formerly Clongour, Thurles, Co. Tipperary

It was with sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Saturday 1st February 2020, of Mrs Mary Canty (née Lawless), New Street, Macroom, Co. Cork and formerly of Clongour, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Canty passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, while in the care of Cork University Hospital, Wilton, Cork city, Co. Cork.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Patricia, brother Aidan and sister Laura; her passing is most deeply regretted by her loving husband Denis; daughters Aimee and Nicola; sons Denis and Dylan; grandchildren Aoife and Iona; sister Geraldine; brothers Declan (Dr. Declan Lawless, Thurles), Gabriel and Rae; son-in-law Ian, daughter-in-law Jenny; sisters-in-law Ann, Kathleen, Cathleen, Caroline and Mary (Duggan), brothers-in-law Louis and Anthony; nieces; nephews; extended relatives; many friends, and her dogs Rory and Snoopy.

Requiescat in Pace.

Funeral Arrangements

The earthly remains of Mrs Canty will lie in repose at Fitz-Gerald’s Funeral Home, Fitzgerald Street, Sleveen East, Macroom, Co. Cork from 5:00pm on Wednesday evening, February 5th, with removal at 8:00pm to St. Colman’s Church, Chapel Hill, Sleveen East, Macroom, Co. Cork.
Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11:30am followed by cremation at the Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Spike Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

A special word of thanks is most gratefully extended to all the nurses, doctors and staff in ward 1A, at Cork University Hospital; who looked after her with such diligence and loving care.
