Thurles Death Notices – Jan 1st & 2nd 2016

 CARROLL

deathIt was with sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Saturday 2nd January 2016, of Mr Thomas (Tom) Carroll, Ard Fatima, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Ballycahill, Thurles, Co Tipperary.

Mr Carroll, a former Mayor of Clonmel and past member of O.N.E. (Óglaigh Náisiúnta Na hÉireann) was pre-deceased by his wife Rita and passed away peacefully at South Tipperary General Hospital, aged 91 years.

The passing of Mr Carroll is most deeply regretted by a grieving family; Joan (Cleary), Breda (Slizys), Connie, Seanie, Pauline (Luker), Thomas, P.J., Ann (De-Roj), and Mary (Hassett); brother Sean, sisters Breda (Behan) and Joan (Connors), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and numerous friends.

Funeral arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Carroll will repose at Condons Funeral Parlour on today, Sunday, from 4:30pm, with removal at 6:30pm to St Mary’s Church, Irishtown. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 12:00 noon followed by burial immediately afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery.

Note: Family flowers only. Donations, however if desired to Friends of St Anthony’s Unit.

SHANAHAN

With-sincere-sympathyIt was with sadness we learned of the death, on Friday 1st January 2016, of Mrs Ida Carmel Shanahan, Rossoulty, Upperchurch, Thurles Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Mrs Shanahan, predeceased by her late husband Jim Donnelly; is most deeply regretted by her husband Frank, son Leo Donnelly, grandson James Shanahan, the Fleming and Donnelly families, together with other relatives and many friends.

Funeral arrangements
The earthly remains of Mrs Shanahan will repose at O’Dwyer’s Funeral Home, Upperchurch, Thurles, on today, Sunday, from 5:00pm with removal at 6:00pm to the Sacred Heart Church, Upperchurch, Thurles.

Requiem Mass will take place on Monday at 11:30am, followed by burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery in Upperchurch.
