Man Arrested In Tipperary Following Cannabis Discovery

Yesterday a man, aged 34 years, was arrested in connection with a significant drug seizure; latter made in the West Tipp area last week.

The male, a native of Wales, and who has been named as Mr Wesley Pause, with his address given as Cloghera, Bansha, Co. Tipperary, appeared in court today.

On Thursday morning last, May 4th, Gardaí from the town of Tipperary reported locating a cannabis grow house in the townsland vicinities of Ballydavid, Bansha and Rossadrehid, Glen of Aherlow; one of Tipperary’s most attractive and scenic holiday destinations.

With an estimated street value of around €80,000 to €90,000; over 100 cannabis plants were discovered on the property, which Gardaí state were being propagated, using a rather sophisticated system of cultivation.

The man who was arrested on Gladstone St. in Clonmel yesterday, was today further remanded to Limerick prison, and is next expected to appear at Thurles District Court on Tuesday next.

Gardaí in Tipperary town continue to appeal to those persons who may have observed suspicious activity of any kind in the Ballydavid / Rossadrehid area over recent weeks, to contact them on Tel: (062) 80670 or (062) 80677.
