Thurles Deaths Jan 1st to January 5th, 2016

FOGARTY

With-sincere-sympathyIt was with sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Monday 4th January 2016, of Mr Ambrose (Amby) Fogarty, / Cork / Whitehall, Dublin / Limerick and formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Born in 1933, Mr Fogarty passed away peacefully in the care of the University Hospital in Limerick. Formerly a professional footballer at Bohemians, Glentoran, Sunderland, Hartlepool United, Cork Celtic and Cork Hibernian; while winning 11 caps for the Republic of Ireland in International appearances.

His full international début for Ireland began on May 11th, 1960, when he played in a 1-0 friendly win over West Germany in Düsseldorf. Mr Fogarty also signed as a player / manager for Drumcondra F.C., and later went on to manage Irish clubs: Cork Hibernians, Galway Rovers, Cork Celtic, Drumcondra, Limerick and Athlone Town, (latter whom he managed in a famous 0-0 draw against A.C. Milan in the 1975–76 UEFA Cup in St Mels Park).

The passing of Mr Fogarty is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Brenda, sons Sean & Donal, daughters Maura & Colette, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sister, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements
A Cremation Service will take place in Glasnevin Crematorium on Saturday, January 9th, at 12:00 noon.
Note: In lieu of flowers; donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

RYAN

deathIt was with sadness we learned of the death, on Friday 1st January 2016, of Mr Sean Ryan, Beechwood Grove, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Mr Ryan is most deeply regretted by his wife Ann, brothers Jimmy, Alphie, Gerry and Noel, sisters Mary, Helen, Phil and Jean, stepsons, stepdaughters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Ryan will repose at Egan’s Funeral Home on tomorrow, Wednesday, January 6th, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, arriving later at the Cathedral of The Assumption at 6.45pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 7th, at 11:00am, with burial immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles.

LEAHY

With-sincere-sympathyIt was with sadness we learned of the death yesterday, Monday 4th January 2016, of Mrs Helen Leahy (née Commins), Rathfarnham, Dublin and formerly of Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Leahy, beloved wife of the late Brendan, passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Orwell House Nursing Home. Her passing is most deeply regretted her brother Msgr. Jim Commins (Liverpool), sister-in-law Rosaline, nieces Marie, Jacinta, Claire, and Barbara, nephew Martin, grandnieces and grandnephews, her extended family Bríd and Bairbre, John S., Tommy, Matt and Geoff, her relatives and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mrs Leahy will repose tomorrow in Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum, Dublin from 3:00pm prior to her removal to the Church of The Annunciation, Rathfarnham; to arrive at 5:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday morning followed by burial at Glasnevin Cemetery.

 CODY

deathIt was with sadness we learned of the death today, Tuesday 5th January 2016, of Mr Seamus Cody, Clonmore, Templemore, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Mr Cody; husband of the late Mary, is most deeply regretted by his loving daughters, Kathleen and Siobhán, sons Eamon and Andrew, son-in-law, Seamus Bourke, daughters-in-law Anne Cody and Eva O’Brien, grandchildren James and his wife Katie, Denis, Edward, Sinéad, Shónagh, Eóin, Ciara, Katie and Nicholas, sister Mena Russell, brother Paddy, brother-in-law Mick and sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Cody will repose at his residence this Wednesday evening from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Removal will take place on Thursday morning to St. Anne’s Church, Clonmore, for Requiem Mass at 11:30am.

Interment will take place immediately afterwards in Templeree Cemetery.

STAPLETON

deathIt was with sadness we learned of the death today, Tuesday 5th January 2016, of Mr William (Billy) Stapleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formely of Woodville, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.

The passing of Mr Stapleton is most deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements
The earthly remains of Mr Stapleton will repose at the Convent Chapel (Malones) off Church Avenue Road, Templemore, tomorrow Wednesday January 6th, from 5:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm.

Removal will take place on Thursday to arrive at the Church of The Sacred Heart, Templemore, for mass at 2:00pm. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
