Death Of Nora Troy, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, on Thursday last, 7th July, 2022, of Mrs Nora Troy (née Mc Loughney), Kickham Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Liberty Square Thurles and The Commons, Ballingarry, Thurles, Co Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Paddy and while in her 91st year; Mrs Troy passed away peacefully, in the care of staff at Acorn Lodge Nursing Home, Cashel.

Her passing is most lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving daughters Mairead and Aideen, beloved grandchildren Jackie (and her husband Dan Lawlor), Kieran and Stephen, great-grandson Finn, sons-in-law Conor (Lyons) and Sam (Mc Ardle), brother Jim (Mc Loughney) and his children Gabriella and Rory, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Gerda (McLoughney), Mary (Shanahan, Chicago), Chrissie (Troy) and Noreen (Troy), cousin Noreen (Bambrick), extended relatives, neighbours, (especially Patti Maher and friends in Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann) and Scór.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Troy will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on Saturday evening, July 9th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Her body will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, on Sunday morning, July 10th, at 10:30am for Requiem Mass at 11:00am.
Interment will follow immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mrs Troy, but due to distance or ill health are unable to do so; same can be viewed online HERE.

Death Of Brigid Brennan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, today, Friday 8th July, 2022 of Mrs Brigid Brennan (née Ryan), Rossestown Hill, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Brennan passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family.

The passing of Mrs Brennan is most deeply regretted by her devoted husband Philip, family Philip (Jnr.), Ciaran, Anita, Carmel, Aidan and Emily, their partners Gwen, Siobhán, Gareth, Kevin, Shane and Aisling, grandchildren Sophie, Jack, Conall, Charlotte, Sarah, Abigail, Ruairí, Rachel, Anna, Daniel and Fionn, sister Mary, brothers Con and Seamus, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law Marian and Tina, brother-in-law Joe, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours, former work colleagues and a wide circle of friends.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death of Mrs Margaret Rodrigues (née Walsh), London and formerly Clonora, Ballysloe, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Chris, brothers Sean, Ambie, Ned and Paddy and sister Jo; Mrs Rodrigues passed away, most deeply regretted by her loving sisters Kitty and Mary, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends

The earthly remains of Mrs Rodrigues will repose at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny, on Sunday evening, July 10th, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Her body will be received into the Church of St. Patrick and St. Oliver, Glengoole, Thurles, Co. Tipperary on Monday morning, July 11th, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Recall Of Roma Formaggio Da Pasta Batch Due To Possible Presence Of Mould.

Yesterday, Thursday, July 7th 2022 a batch of Roma Formaggio Da Pasta was recalled by Valeo Foods, as advised by the Irish Food Safety Authority (FSAI).

The pack size being withdrawn and which was imported from the Netherlands, was the 80g pack variety, with Batch Code: “Best before date: May 5th, 2023”.

Do check your dry goods storage area as Valeo Foods are now recalling the above noted batch due to the possible presence of mould.

Point-of-sale recall notices are being displayed in stores, known to supply the implicated batch.

€150 Fine For Using Disabled Parking Bay In Thurles.

Yesterday, Tipperary Roads Policing (Póiliniu Bóithre) unit observed a vehicle, incorrectly parked; while patrolling in the Liberty Square area of Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

A motor vehicle was found to be parked in a disabled parking bay, situated east of the town.

Same vehicle was found to not display the necessary “Disabled Permit” badge. The driver, when questioned, did not to hold a permit and had used the disabled car parking space, before entering a local shop in the town.

As part of “Operation Enable” Garda enforcement; a fine of €150 was issued to the driver.

Garda are asking the public to please respect the current existing law in relation to parking in disabled parking bays, wherever same are found to be in situ.
