Thurles Cathedral – Celtic Brothers In Concert.

An evening to look forward to…

The Celtic Brothers are scheduled to appear in concert on Friday September 30th, 2022, in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
All proceeds from the evening’s programme will go towards the Cathedral’s “Raise the Roof” project.

Death Of Tim Gleeson, Earl’s Hill, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Thursday, 28th July, 2022, of Mr Timothy (Tim) Gleeson, Portmarnock, Co. Dublin and formerly of Earl’s Hill, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his brothers John, Pat and Tom and his sister Margaret; Mr Gleeson passed away peacefully, at his place of residence, surrounded by his loving family.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his wife Mary, children Aileen, Michael and Aoife. Michael’s partner Natasha, Aoife’s partner Paul, Natasha’s daughter Ciara, sisters Nora, Mary and Breda, brothers Tony and Joe, brothers and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and wonderful friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Gleeson will repose at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock, Co. Dublin on Monday afternoon next, August 1st, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
His body will be received into the Church of St. Anne, Portmarnock on Tuesday morning, August 2nd, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am; followed by interment in Balgriffin Cemetery, Ballygriffin, Co. Dublin.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Gleeson, but are unable to do so; same can be viewed online HERE.

Death Of Ena Murphy, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Wednesday, 27th July, 2022 of Mrs Ena Murphy (née Benson), Willmount, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by her husband Dr. Michael Murphy, her sister Dorothy, brothers-in-law John and Phil; the passing of Mrs Murphy is most deeply regretted by her children Patrice, Ann and John, treasured grandchildren Robert, Michelle, Katherine, Andrew and Emma, sons-in-law Richard and Dan, daughter-in-law Caroline, sister Pauline, nieces Ann, Ruth and Grace, nephew Paul and the extended Benson, O’Brien and O’Reilly families.

Her body will be received into the Church of St. Mary, Bailey Street, Killenaule, Thurles, to further repose for Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 10:30am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Crosscannon Cemetery, Killenaule, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Wednesday, 27th July, 2022, of Mr Dessie Ryan formerly Dun Lia, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Pre-deceased by his parents Seamus and Hannah and his brother Michéal; the passing of Mr Ryan is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Clair, son Ronan, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, brother Eamon, sister Jean, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Ryan will repose at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Thurles on tomorrow evening Friday, July 29th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles at 7:45pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, July 30th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Wednesday, 27th July, 2022, of Mrs Margaret (Peggy) Hayes (née Ryan), Newtown, Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Mrs Hayes passed away peacefully at her place of residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Her passing is most deeply regretted by her husband Michael, sons Oliver, Owen, Mickey, Thomas and Conor, their partners, grandchildren, brother Con, sisters Mary and Patricia, daughter-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours, friends and work colleagues.

Her body will be received into the 12 century Cistercian Abbey, Holycross, Thurles, on Saturday morning for to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment in Moyaliffe Cemetery.
