Not bad pay for those who refuse to answer emails from the public, and have to attend for a couple of hours at one meeting each month.
Meanwhile, highly paid officials at all levels, each responsible for basic administration within the town of Thurles, have proven themselves to be below par, ineffective and totally lacking in ability.
It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday, Thursday 18th August 2022 of Mrs Audrey Capstick (née Yates), Ballymoreen, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by her husband Gordon; the passing of Mrs Capstick is most deeply regretted by her loving daughters Victoria and Emma, grandchildren Kyle, Mikey, Christiana and Andreas, great grandson Izaak, son-in-law Kieran and Victoria’s partner Joe, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Capstick will repose at her residence on Sunday evening next, August 21st, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Her funeral cortège will arrive at St. Mary’s Church, (C of I) Littleton, Thurles, on Monday morning, August 22nd, for Funeral Service at 11:00am, followed by private cremation.

It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death, today, Thursday 18th August 2022, of Mr Pat Quinlan, Castlerock, Castleconnell, Co. Limerick and formerly of Cummerjudy, Milestone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr Quinlan passed away peacefully at his place of residence, surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving wife Bríd, son David, daughter Anne, daughter-in-law Kealin, grandchildren Noah and Emma, brother Timmy, father-in-law Jimmy, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Quinlan will repose at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Newport, Co. Tipperary on Saturday evening, August 20th, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
His body will be received into the Church of St. Joseph’s Church, Castleconnell, Co. Limerick, on Sunday afternoon, August 21st, for Requiem Mass at 2:00pm; followed by interment immediately afterwards in Killeenagarriff cemetery, Co. Limerick.

It was with a great personal sadness, that I learned of the death, today, Thursday 18th August, 2022, of Mrs Marie Dinan (née Murphy), Piermount, Bohernamona Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly Racecourse Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mrs Dinan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness most bravely borne, and while in the care of staff at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin.
Pre-deceased by her parents Pat and Bea; her passing is most deeply regretted by her heartbroken family; devoted husband Richard, daughters Sandra and Grace, grandchildren Andraya, Nicole, Ben, Jack, Ethan and their expected baby sister, sons-in-law Peter and Keelan, sister Eileen, brothers Vincent and Edmund, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law Denis, sisters-in-law Dorinda, Norma and Mary, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, August 20th, at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Holycross Abbey graveyard, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

People aged 55 and over, together with pregnant women are being invited to make an appointment for their next booster vaccine against Covid-19.
As from today, those in the above stated age cohort will be able to make an appointment on the HSE website at vaccination clinics, and participating GPs and pharmacies. [e.g. Liberty Pharmacy, Thurles Telephone, – 0504 90604]
Women who are more than 16 weeks pregnant are also invited to book a Covid-19 booster dose.
Dr. Colm Henry, [HSE Chief Clinical Officer] has stated, “We know immunity tends to reduce after a period of months, following your last vaccine, so this booster will give ongoing protection from serious illness, and increase immunity against infection from Covid-19”.
