Volunteer Support Officer with ALONE, Ms Aoife Dennehy Reports:-
“ALONE is a national organisation that strives to enable older people to age at home, safely and securely, for as long as they wish. We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, frail or ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties.
ALONE recruit, train and support volunteers for a number of services, including Visitation Support and Befriending Service, in which volunteers give just 1 hour of their time each week to provide companionship to an older person. We work with a number of older people in the Thurles area who would like for someone to visit them, however, we are finding it difficult to recruit volunteers within the Thurles area.
Would you be willing to provide companionship to an Older Person for one hour per week?
ALONE are currently seeking volunteers for their Visitation Support and Befriending Service here in North Tipperary and particularly in the Thurles area. Full training and support will be provided”.
Those of you who may be interested are asked to please sign up HERE” For more information, please contact Aoife on aoife.dennehy@alone.ie or Tel: 086-0120221
